" Our standard of living has been improving but Canada's GDP per capita in 2002...is a remarkable $12,000 less than that in the United States...Many other countries have sailed past us in recent years- Denmark, Ireland, Iceland, Finland, the Netherlands, Norway and Switzerland."
Somehow Mintz fails to tell his readers, in his yet again unending plea to lower taxes in Canada to U.S. levels or lower, that of the seven countries he mentions, five have tax-to- GDP ratios considerably higher than Canada's. And I mean CONSIDERABLY.
What do you think? Did he just kinda forget this when he chose his examples, or did he think no one would know better
As to the $12,000 baloney, I've already covered this nonsense in Vanishing, see in particular
The Ultimate Imperative for Canadians.
