America pillaging Quebec's resources? Quebec is pillaging Canada's resources, especially large sums of cash given to their socialist paradise like manna from heaven by their friends in the Liberal party.

I am sick of the anti-Quebec stuff that gets posted here. Thankfully it is only a tiny minority - generally ANON trolls -As for the act itself. well, I am against this sort of thing. It is exactly what the ruling class want - anti-war people as bombers. That said, one has also to expect such actions as the authoritarianism of the US state provokes certain fringe people to taking drastic measures.

Quebec as a part of Canada makes for a stronger Quebec AND Canada. Resistance to the U.S.A. by Canada and/or Quebec is a good thing. Quebec is part of Canada for now, and should stay that way for solidarity. If at another time they wish to leave, then I wish them good luck. Let the American empire whither and become isolationist, then we will have many more options.

Of course Quebec is stronger within Canada, but Canada is weaker by keeping Quebec. Supplicants drain not only the financial resources but cultural as well - proof of this is the answer to the question 'what is a Canadian?' - there is no answer allowed because none would satisfy Quebec.

Resisting US efforts to promote democracy is ideological ignorance. But perhaps you mean Canadians should resist the US because they harbour the totally corrupt United Nations - that is perhaps a worthy goal, but the Americans shouldn't be made to pay an even heavier price for the UN when they're being gracious enough to host them, thankfully we didn't get stuck with the UN.

Agree wholeheartedly. Once we have defeated the Americans and dismembered first their overseas empire and then the USA itself, we will be able to address the Quebec-Canada issue with clarity. As long as America is assaulting our sovereignty, we need work from a position of unequivocal unity. Once this danger is past, there will be options that we cannot imagine at this point.

And make no mistake, America is at the tipping point. Not only are they tottering financially, their culture is bankrupt and they are universally hated by every nation and individual on the planet. I’m thinking that the end of the empire will occur within a few years.

Dream on, old brother, dream on. America was invented by the world, and has been continuously re-invented by the world. Canada has played and still plays a large part in inventing America (ever notice the hundreds of millions of dollars we send to Hollywood every year -- to watch Canadian actors in Canadian cities filmed by Canadian directors play out American stories?). America is not licked yet. It would require at the least the Japanese, the Chinese, and the Europeans willing to descend into global depression for a decade before America gasps its last breath. They've all got too much invested in America to see that happen.

And while I commend those earnstwhile Quebecois for almost blowing up a set of wires, the 'rebellion' was more pathetic than anything else. I'd rather see "The Toronto DVD-party" where truck-loads of Hollywood crap is seized by an angry mob and dumped into the Don River. We could watch the DVDs burn up in that chemical stew.

You want freedom? You can't ask for freedom.

This is not a sane comment.

Quebec sends wood to the U.S. for almost nothing....pulp and paper--almost nothing. James Bay hydro-power to Boston and New York City--almost nothing.....and now the American porn industry is setting up shop in Quebec because "French accents are cute."

Just think, your boys Parizeau, Bouchard and Duceppe want to expand this even further--a pan-American dollar!

    Some Quebecois they are! hahahahahahahaha

"Just think, your boys Parizeau, Bouchard and Duceppe want to expand this even further--a pan-American dollar!"

That is one of the best points I have heard come out of the ROC to date. It's so true, while proud Quebec residents fight for Quebec's rights, they have these phoney leaders who want an independant nation so that they can profit. Maybe when there is someone other than a robberbarron in power in Quebec there could be some serious thought about seperation, and revitalisation, but until then, well look who your laying yourselves down with.

Thanks....but I wouldnn't be too optimistic about the separation thing. I admit there have always been French-Canadian nationalists, but I think the robber-barons had a lot to do with the 1995 debacle, and I think in their heart of hearts Quebecers would be very angry if a leader managed their province so badly again.

That's what I was getting at. Following the piper is only as good as where it leads you.

Who benefits when a francophone group bombs hydro quebec?

i'd like to know more about the source of the news. Could be another Mossad, or a Wall Street operation. The Canadian dollar is coming off overbought condition. Bad news from north of 49 would hasten a retreat on Cdn dollar.

Remember, SARS in Toronto was a scam. BSE in Alberta too.

There's a lot of Alberta bashing here. I'd like to add, i'm posting from Alberta, and probably one of the more aggressive at dropping bombs on the statists at Vive. Thing is, i'm from Ontario originally, and lived in B.C. for 10 years. Careful where you tred, i'm not a product of geography.

I slag Canada because it's been co-opted by bankers and corporations and their cortiers. The mess we're in today has crept up to us slowly, almost invisibily, and certainly unconsciously. I blame the idiot box mostly. That and technology in general. The exploiters of this technology are getting their just deserts now. Problem is they got nukes, and aren't afraid to use them. In time they'll unleash their sadistic lust for destruction, I see they've got the brain washed Christian Zionists lined up to take the fall. good luck to us all we're gonna need it.
