US Adopts Tough New Space Policy

However, some military experts warn that by refusing to enter into negotiations on space weaponry, the US is likely to fuel international suspicions that it will develop such weapons. The 10-page strategic document states that the US national security "is critically dependent upon space capabilities, and this dependence will grow". "The United States will preserve its rights, capabilities, and freedom of action in space... and deny, if necessary, adversaries the use of space capabilities hostile to US national interests," it says. The World better not exercise its democratic rights and move freely without fear before it has not gotten approval from or risk offending our neighbor / friend / family to the south of us.

"Will" develop? Like in the future. Perhaps "have" developed. The Americans are now saying that they and they only, determine who can leave earth. All nations of the world must ask their permission to fly spacecraft. There just is no end to Bush & his league pushing at the final straw. Their rules are to be the only laws that apply and they can't comprehend why there is resistance. How long will this go on after Bush is gone?

One would almost think that Bush and his minions invented outer space in the first place.

As for getting their permission, I rather doubt that any nation technologically able to launch a man/woman into orbit will ask the US for anything of the sort.

Besides, Bush' US isn't in any position at the moment to enforce any such edict to begin with. Their forces are spread far too thin right now to do anything more than howl like an enraged chimp.

Oops, forgot, Dubyuh is already doing that.

Last time I checked, there was no upper limit to what a nation could claim as their airspace when it is directly over the nation in question.

I'm sure that the same holds true for airspace over international waters, only in this case it's international airspace.

And if the US starts bitching about orbits going over their territory, then they can get use to other nations doing the same when US space junk flies over theirs.

Takes two to tango, and it's time the US government learned how to dance.

Who & how? Right now the US considers any "who do not obey" as the enemy. Dr. Rice travels the world to give "his message" and reports back directly with a list of possible, probable and those who are the enemy. China has been warned that they must inforce the sanctions against North Korea. China has enough money in their foreign reserve to completely take over anything listed on any major stock exchange. Will they heed?
I can see the American Air Force preventing any spacecraft atempting to orbit IF Bush decides it shouldn't. They have enough spycraft now to keep on tabs of every corner of this earth. They don't even need "Google Earth"! Any plans to send a spacecraft is usualy done months to years in advance. It would only take one fighterplane to stop it. Is there any place on earth that the Americans don't have spies?

To quote Rockefeller: put me in control of a nation's money supply and I don't give a damn who makes the rules.

    It's the same with China:

    "Dear President Bush.

You are in no position to dictate terms to us.

We produce most of your goods, we control the Panama Canal.

We have more than enough money to buy you outright, and we could take the entire Middle East any time we want with our 100 million plus army, so please STFU and behave yourself like the nice little white puppet you are.

    Yours sincerely

Seems to me that the Russians were doing the same thing back when they were the Soviet Union.

They were also deveopling Hunter/Killer satellites, as were the Americans as well.

That China is also blinding US surveillance statellites therefore comes as no surprise, I mean who really wants Dubyuh and Co. looking into their back yard?

Bet on the current US administration also blinding the satellites put aloft by other nations. You'd almost think that Groom Lake* was still a secret.

*Groom Lake, the US test facility that includes the nearly mythical Area 51.

For a nation that is having some difficulty controlling earth, being top dog in space may be a bit of a stretch.

Don't forget that Bush is getting his instructions from "God".
The same way the ayatollahs on the other side.

Just as the main Christian religions were praising and sending their clergy to serve in the armed forces of the "leader with the cross on his chest", Adolf Schickelgruber, who was doing "God's work to defend Christianity and Western civilization".

I'm amazed it took so long. This policy was drawn up by The Project for the New American Century "think tank" back in the 1990s. Bush has followed that doctrine pretty much to the letter ever since.<br />

like the nice little white puppet you are. <<

There was a movie a while back about a possessed puppet. I believe the puppet was called Charlie but it could have been George. Anyone recall the name of the movie and NO, it was not the autobiography of GWB.
