Can Canada Solve The World's Energy Woes?

Judge John Gomery is investigating massive corruption in the Liberal Party. According to testimony, the Liberals paid millions of taxpayer dollars to advertising agencies in Montreal for little or no work, in exchange for kickbacks to party leaders and contributions to party coffers. Gomery had placed a ban on reporting the testimony, but was forced to lift it when American web logger Ed Morrissey published details on his web site, Captain's Quarters. The news has enraged Canadians. Opinion polls indicate support for the Liberals, who have governed Canada since 1993, is plummeting. Although "Adscam" is far and away the biggest problem the Liberals have, it isn't the only one. The government acknowledged April 8th the cost of implementing the Kyoto treaty on global warming will be at least $10 billion, twice what has been budgeted. Half of Canadians strongly oppose a government plan to legalize gay marriage. If the Liberals lose a no confidence vote in parliament, a new election will be forced. Most Canadian observers think a no confidence vote will pass by June at the latest. Continued here: http://www.jewishworldreview.com/0405/jkelly041305.php3

Another american right wing wacko. I would really like people like this to come up to Canada and say to my face "Canuckistan". Just makes you itch for a fight, doesn't it?

Ugh. Alberta separatists, trying to use a scandal in a particular party to push their own goals. Just because the BQ started it.

So somebody abused their power. That's no reason to break up the country.

Canadians are asking, why do americans hate us? They hate our freedoms: our freedom of religion, our freedom of speech, our freedom to disagree with each other.

"Canada has been described as a beast which grazes in the West and is milked in the East."

This was a very appropriate quote from the article. There may be some truth to the whole separatist thing for many provinces though. Unless we can somehow unite Canadians and form a national identity based upon LIKING ourselves and what we have IN COMMON from one coast to the other, and work to that end instead of focusing on hating everyone else on the planet (such as France does - ever seen the t-shirt slogan "I'm so French, I even hate myself"? Actually more fitting of US) we just might end up like this author stated. Like the American (forgive the "dirty" word) said..."united we stand, divided we fall". I do not intend on living in EITHER the "51st" state, OR a "canuckistan". I want a free, fair, honest, and KIND Canada. Just call me altruistic...go ahead...
