Mexican Murder Cover-Up?

However, this was not initially seen as a robbery but as a professional hit! And blamed on the victims! Anybody but a local. And the Mexican authorities still insist it was a professional hit, though why or by whom they don't know, or want to say; the later being more likely. "The attorney general for Quintana Roo state (Bello Melchor Rodriguez y Carrillo) initially said it appeared to be (done in)a 'professional' manner. But he now says he doesn't think the killings are related to organized crime." (See "Organized crime not involved in murders: authorities." Now why would he say that? Could it be because of this....Drug War Hits Vacation Hot Spot?? I was hoping that the PM might say something superficially about the investigation, such as, "We're following this case with interest." (I'd say the same thing regardless of who was PM.) It might comfort those women in Thunder Bay a bit. I don't know if they're innocent or not, but it's hard not to feel uneasy about their possible fate . . .

Or maybe Harper had the RCMP actually do the job they are paid to do, which is why 4 locals are now being sought as persons of interest. And why 2 RCMP investigators are being sent down to Mexico. Of course, nobody here is going to give the Cons any props for this turn of events. Anything "good" must just be coincidence because the Cons certainly can't be credited with doing a decent job at anything. <br />

    Good for you Scott.
It seems that some people believe the RCMP can go to any country and just take over an investigation. An RCMP liason in Mexico had been briefed but the news media believe it's they who is to make the call. Fortunatly the RCMP are not required to investigate crimes committed on Canadians in foreign countries nor is it feasable that foreign police officers are required to investigate crimes in Canada. There are a lot of misgivings over American Police officers doing joint investigations with Canadian Police officers in Canada.
