The Edmonton Journal also ran an Oct. 15 article focusing largely on Mel Hurtig's opposition to the census, which included a final paragraph on Vive le Canada.ca. If I can find it online I'll post it. The title was "Hurtig slams U.S. involvement in Canadian census: Canadians should boycott head count, writer suggests"

Inter Press Service posted an article about the census, although to view it you need to be a subscriber. The title is "Activists Coalesce Against 'Deep Integration' with U.S."

On Thursday Oct. 16 I was a guest on the Dave Taylor radio talk show on QR77 in Calgary at 3pm MST. On Saturday Oct. 18 I will be a guest on a Toronto area radio talk show (female host but I'll have to check her name) at 11:30 am MST, 1:30 pm eastern.

Note: Census deal shocks citi... Inter Press Service

Well now we\'re getting somewhere, good for you Susan and good for Canada! The more people who hear about it the more they\'ll be outraged, hopefully!

They can\'t ignore us now! Keep this going! Remember these quotes by Noam Chomsky:

\"There are no magic answers, no miraculous methods to overcome the problems we face, just the familiar ones: honest search for understanding, education, organization, action that raises the cost of state violence for its perpetrators or that lays the basis for institutional change -- and the kind of commitment that will persist despite the temptations of disillusionment, despite many failures and only limited successes, inspired by the hope of a brighter future.\"

\"If you assume that there\'s no hope, you guarantee that there will be no hope. If you assume that there is an instinct for freedom, there are opportunities to change things, there\'s a chance you may contribute to making a better world. That\'s your choice.\"

\"This is a business run society. 1 out of every 6 dollars (1 Trillion dollars/yr Major financial commitment) in the entire US economy is used for marketing (form of manipulation and deceit) an effort to create artificial wants, to control the way people look and think about things. Marketing is an inefficient use of funds, doesn\'t produce anything. A lot of it is straight vulgar propaganda, advertising. Most marketing is tax free, so the people pay for the privilege of being propagandized. This is standard academic (social sciences) and public relations institutional knowledge. You would have to break through a lot of psychic resistance to successfully organize a battle against this. You\'re struggling against 5 hours a day of television, the movie industry, books, the schools etc. The scale of the efforts and the frenzied dedication to controlling peoples? minds is pretty impressive. But then again, if you think of the stakes, it\'s not too surprising.\"

\"If you go to one demonstration and then go home, that\'s something, but the people in power can live with that. What they can\'t live with is sustained pressure that keeps building, organizations that keep doing things, people that keep learning lessons from the last time and doing it better the next time.\"

Unfortunately I was bumped from the CFRB show on Saturday due to a previous caller calling in late.

So interesting, so when are you rescheduled for? Or do they think we are going away?
