The Abiotic Oil Controversy, by Richard Heinberg; from the article: "In recent months a few of the many web sites that challenge the official
account of the events of 9/11/2001 have also attacked the idea of peak oil. I would prefer to ignore this controversy-and there are good reasons for doing so, as some of these web sites lack credibility on other counts; nevertheless, as these sites are magnets for large numbers of people who are just beginning to find their way out of the consensus societal trance, they
appear to be doing some palpable harm. I have received at least a couple of dozen e-mails from sincere people wanting to know my response to claims that "peak oil" is a scam, and that oil is actually an inexhaustible resource. So, once and for all, here is my take on the abiotic oil controversy."

The Abiotic Oil Controv...
my take on the abiotic ...

WAR WAR WAR
so what if we've hit the peak of oil supply, it's going to be a loooooong time before we run out, gives us time to find alternatives. Considering how we've destroyed the planet so far, i really don't think a mass human dieoff is such a bad thing.
let's start with nuking New York, then London and Jerusalem, then maybe Miami, Los Angeles and a few other ZION loving shiethole cities.... the world will be an infinitely more livable place.
Besides, it's not just a problem for the elite. And we won't have oil around for a long time. Think about the amount of oil an average person consumes. Right now, we can barely produce enough oil to meet demand. THat's why oil prices are at an all-time high. Now look at emerging economies like CHINA. How much oil are they going to need in the next 10 years? Wow, suddenly the world's oil reserves just got a whole lot smaller!
What is indicative is the oil per capita, not the total oil. So we reached peak oil. THat means that we can't expect our resources to continue to grow. Which means we need to start reducing the amount we consume.
Putting blind faith in alternative energies is ridiculous. They're simply not going to be ready in time because none of the people who have big money in the petroleum-economy care to invest in alternative energy. I'm not saying that we CAN'T be ready in time for an oil shortage. The problem is that people use the solution to the problem (alternative energy) as an excuse to waste the remaining oil reserves. But if we were smart we'd invest in alternative energy now, make the switch, and then we could wisely use oil for all of its other uses, like making plastics or fertilizers, etc. We need to stop wasting this valuable resource.

"What lies behind us and what lies ahead of us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us." - Oliver Wendell Holmes
If Edwards really wanted to embarass cheney in their debate, he could have done it with a handful of documents, but he didn't. That says something.
Cheney and others wanted and planned to go into Iraq for their oil LONG BEFORE "dubya" became president.
This info is from Linda McQuaig's new book, "It's the Crude, Dude."
Another book that ALL Americans should read, just to see how their administration lies to them as they look them right in the eye.
Kerry is no better, they are the SAME !!!
I have a solution to our oil problems.
First, we abrogate NAFTA, (if we can find the politician with the balls to stand up to the US government), then we NATIONALIZE our oil industry, just like Saudi Arabia did years ago. We keep the profits. We say how much oil the US gets. We keep what WE need !!
They do not dictate to us, because we have the POTENTIAL of some 7 Million terrorists on the north side of their border. Don't keep pushing everyone around, it will come back to haunt you. It's just a matter of time.
This is insane, that we keep electing politicians that want closer ties with these idiots.
I have a new name for the VP:
dick "Big Oil" cheney.
That's what he stands for, and he is always looking out for them.
Read the book, PLEASE !!

This investigative journalism could play as important of a role as Woodward and Bernstein in bringing down a presidency if it gets a wide enough read in the US. The question has to be raised as to where has the US media been on this kind of information?
