Kennedy Speaks Out In Banff!

Posted on Friday, January 07 at 15:51 by whelan costen
Kennedy also says Canada has its share of "little George Bushes" who look at natural resources only as commodities that can turn a profit. "That's about the worst thing I could say about them," said Kennedy, who is one of the hosts at a star-studded celebrity fundraiser in the Rocky Mountain resort of Banff for his Waterkeeper Alliance. http://www.mytelus.com/news/article.do?pageID=news_home&articleID=1811205

"Canada has its share of "little George Bushes""

yah, they are called conservatives. They are members of the conservative party of Canada and inhabit such outstanding pro-Canada organizations such as the CCCE and think-tanks like the Fraser Institute and Howe Institute.

you will see them here from time to time posting their pro-anything-american stance and anti-canadian views for the world to see. they hate society, and hate the idea that everyone should benefit from natural resources. they hate charities not tied to a church, hate the UN and the CBC. they love cheap labour and privatization of everything. they think outsourcing jobs to the third world is good for our economy and they totally love voting against their own best interests.

they love corporate power and hate citizen power. they think 'big' government is there to rule their lives, but ignore it is government that allows them to destroy everything around them. they love running deficits, and giving money to the already rich at the expense of the everyone else - including themselves.

they watch Fox News and think CanWest global never lies. they refuse to read history books and are scared of big bad liberals. they think terrorists are coming to invade canada, and spending billions building weapons makes them secure. they get scared of their own shadows.

they rarely visit other nations, and when they do, they never leave the tourist area.

they believed in the domino theory, and they don't believe in global warming. science is to be ignored when it doesn't fit their narrow point of view, and they love banning books. they think free speach is only free when it applies to them.

they control the media, but still rail on about 'librul' bias. they love pills limbaugh and hang on to every word from o'reilly and hannity. they call supporting dictators - expanding democracy.

they think saddam did 9/11, and had wmd even though there is no proof. they will say anything no matter how outrageous, because being a fool is what they learn from talk radio. they don't debate - they shrill. they live in la la land where wrong is right, death is life, being hated is being loved, war is peace and poor is rich.

they believe trickle down economics works, and they blame the US deficit on Clinton. they think God is on only their side. they hate the idea that women can decide for themselves what is right for their bodies. they usually hate the French, and think they 'invented' democracy.

they hate porno and sex - even though they are always brought down by it. they hate, no fear, gays and lesbians, but don't even know one.

yep, Canada is full of the brain-dead rightwing, but they refuse to admit they are still the minority, and will always be the minority.

A Kennedy politicking away against George Bush - hardly surprising. Kennedy's not working for the environment, he never has, he's working for strictly for himself. We don't need him here in Canada to lecture us, we have enough of our own eco-nazis.

Is it just me or are three of those posts from the same person? It is sad that high profile elites from the U.S. have to tell our politicians that they are messing with the environment, but the reality is that environmental concerns have no boundaries, what we do here will affect others. Just like stripping the rain forest, or bombing Iraq affects the rest of the world!

The Dead Kennedys were a rather good punk rock band a few years back.

Canadians are asking, why do americans hate us? They hate our freedoms: our freedom of religion, our freedom of speech, our freedom to disagree with each other.

Nobody listens to the Kennedys in the US anymore so they're out looking for new marks. My guess is they will do well in Canada. Keep a close watch on your women, however. And hide the liquor if Teddy comes.

Things haven't been so great for the Kennedys since prohibition ended.
