He has energy, and I like the GST idea, but consumption taxes like the GST and PST actually target all income earners, in that the more you pay for an item the more tax you pay. That makes for a level playing field.
The above article shows Jack Layton with new ideas, and spending the surplus, or at least most of it on the homeless and healthcare makes my day.
I'm beginning to think he may do ok.

I agree. I think what were gonna see as the election approaches, is the NDP support will go up. They won't get majority, but they will surprise their opposition.
Health Care issues is getting allot of publicity, and this being the most important issue for Canadians in the election. The parties true colors will come out into the open. The NDP will be noticed by voters with this publicity.
Sure Harper is staying pretty quite, but its just a matter of time that opposition get him to crack like Pettigrew cracked under pressure with questions from NDP Bev Desjarlais.
Harper may not seem as bad as Day, but deep down below the fake image he is the same or if not worse. Like Mulroney did, Harper has a hidden agenda. I wouldn't be surprised if he already has signing priorities with the U.S if he was to get elected.
