One right wing after another, ready to hand Canada over to the United States. I'm adding Brison to the list of other ring wingers to send with a one way ticket to the U.S.

You know what's absolutely hilarious? Business is supposed to be the strong suit of these corporate hacks, yet any competent business person understands that it is a bad idea to become too dependent on any single customer. What do these guys do? Their absolute best to not only become dependent, but to teach their only customer to make unreasonable demands.

The worst part is that this is the better of our two (too?) far right parties.

There are many people, unfortunately in all political parties (including the NDP unfortunately - re: previous BC NDP leader) who are interested in immediate personal gain from supporting pro-American policies. They do not see the long term picture, or they see it in a misguided way (and I'd debate any one of them who claims their right-wing world view is correct :) The Conservative party and Liberal party are the Canadian version of the Republicans and the Democrats. MP's don't worry about switching sides because it's no longer about principles, just personalities.

Good works (huminatarian, non-profit community volunteering) should be the standard for politicians. Most of the time these politicians get into power by money and talking down the opponent. Those who want to get elected should have shown they are more interested in the public welfare by actual actions not merely words. Did you hear about that businessman who donated 26 millions to Western University. He urged other businessmen do the same. He believed in giving 10 % of the income for good works.

Some sort of independent committee (or many) should be formed to assess the character of each candidate and the results should be disclosed to public. He who wants to get elected, should be open with the public about his faults and his virtues.

    Anon,

That is one excellent idea. Would you be willing to do a complete article on this idea and submit it to vive? Would be a good article to present this excellent idea.

    Thanks!
