Well it would seem our Conservatives have some problems on their hands keeping Canadians onside with their continuation of the Liberal appeasement of America.
Now if more Canadians would find out that we are not fighting terrorists in Afghanistan but insurgents, I would surmise that even more Canadians would want us to pull out of there sooner rather than later. Calling them insurgents isn't probably correct all things considered. After all, we took a side in a civil war. Call it what you like. And before the pro-war crowd jumps on me for saying that, you don't have to believe me, but you should probably believe the US State Department. You know, the ones that we are fighting for!
US does not consider Taliban terrorists
Even as the Taliban attacks US, Canadian, and British forces, organization is left off terrorist list in 'political' decision.
And with the hysteria over Iran starting to take off in the right-wing media, I can't wait for the Conservatives to get on the wrong side of Canadians as they did with Iraq.

decline each time another soldier is killed. The more
soldiers that die the more support this "war" loses.
Interesting though the Conservatives voters opposition
has grown from 24% to 38% that somewhat surprises me but
then again there have been numerous soldiers killed since
last poll.
I think Harper will have no choice but to do the right
thing and get us the hell out of there.
Politically speaking he could very easily lose seats in
Quebec over this. The more soldiers coming home in body
bags the more support he will lose.
If the recent poll that shows the cons at 35% is
"validated" in the coming days and weeks by other polling
companies it could mean the "war" is effecting his overall
support.
I figured unfortunately the more soldiers coming home in
body bags would weaken support for this conflict, and him
trying to ban media from showing coffins does not help
Harper's cause either.
It has been fun, comical and eye opening since Harper
became PM but enough is enough, it is really time for him
and the conservatives to go.

He had an interesting take on the illegal immigrant invasion of the United States I posted a while back in the forums.

On the other note, I doubt you are going to hear liberals, the only other viable alternative (unfortunately) come out and say they are going to take the military out. Not a chance. They might make noise about 'conducting a study' or 'debating it in parliament', or something like that, but if the opposition doesn't provide an alternative, then it doesn't hurt Harper any. You couldn't even get the NDP to even TALK about pulling troops out of Haiti, which is an even more aggregious mission, so welcome to the new war economy.

Maybe the US wants to become independent of Canadian oil and gas, to which it is addicted. It is not about helping India at all. This pipeline might be an effort to improve on the US image and increase its sphere of influence, and is in fact a huge "carrot" to the ex-Soviet republics.
That is why Canada should not be involved in Afghanistan.
