His wife is an MP in her first term, one of the Conservative back benchers that well, no one knew except her constiuents.     His wife is serving for the FIRST time. It appears he is in the clear with the donations. I am not rallying to his side, but get your facts straight.

    Yes, his wife is the first-term MP. As to whether he or not he is in the clear,
    that remains to be seen. There are six questionable cheques, with the
    possibility of even more coming to light soon. Two of the cheques are OK
    from the point of view of receipts (unless, of course, Grewal promised
    receipts when he shouldn't have, which is what both donors are alleging); one
    of the cheques ($1800 for Nina's campaign) clearly is not OK (even Grewal
    admits that).

    I have yet to hear about the Nina one, and Grewal if I remember right is a second timer, not his wife.
