Cosmopolitan - Cospomopolite

Posted on Thursday, October 30 at 16:03 by sthompson
We would like to invite the participation of diverse Canadians as co-founding members of this initiative.

We are also conducting a 'grassroots' search for prospective 'Prime Ministers' (and also prospective Members of Parliament). This process is as an alternative to the comparatively auncompetitive Convention process of the Liberal Party of Canada, and other such political parties dominated by elitist politics.

If you would like more information on how you can participate, please contact Raymond Samuels II at:

General info about Cosmopolitan

Help support the advancement and promotion of Canada's national identity as a socially progressive and cosmopolitan society.

'Cosmopolitan' is a "pan-Canadian sovereigntist" movement in support of Canadian aspirations for a independent, strong, and united Canada.

Join our socially progressive and quality-of-life oriented "Canadian sovereigntist" political party initiative.

The political philosophies of Canadian Cosmopolitanism are the following:

-- Social inclusion associated with the promotion of equality and human rights;
-- Universality associated with the promotion of a system of enshrined human rights inclusive of maximized support to universal public healthcare, public health, environmental protection to the ecological endowment, and valued Canadian social programmes;
- Cultural pluralism associated with a strong multi-cultural and cross-cultural national national community rather than a Canada that is de-evolved into provincial feudal elites;
-- Federalism, associated with a strong central government. Such federalism should be executed via the affirmation of political, economic and cultural sovereignty, that can enable the protection of a comprehensive system of values and Canadian citizenship rights. These rights are being undermined via so-called "free trade" and also "Economic Globalization";
- Creative government: Government that is viewed as a potentially constructive and facilitative agent that serves the diverse public in support of facilitating quality-of-life objectives -- rather that government as a primary agent of a 'capitalistocracy', that views government as hindering short-term maximization of "market profit".
-- Democracy that is consensual and participatory associated with responsible and accountable constitutional government, rather than upon elitist politics in a 'capitalistocracy';
-- Quality-of-Life: a political economy that is driven by serving the needs of people in association with the environment that people depend upon for their quality-of-survival, rather than a political economy that pivots on the execution of draconian practices, in a prism of 'market fundamentalism'.
-- The independence of Canada in domestic affairs, that is not subverted by trade policies in a 'capitalistoracy'; and an independence in which Canada à la "constructive internationalism" can provide leadership on the promotion of social ethical values. These values can be viewed to be associated with the Canadian national identity. This includes values associated with the alleviation of poverty, universality, community, global peace, and the sovereignty of communities and nations that in turn is able to facilitate the quality-of-life of its citizens, inclusively.

-- Cosmopolitan furthermore affirms that social justice is the basis of a humane society;
-- Cosmopolitan affirms that environmental protection and the minimizing of social costs should be integrated in economic development considerations in Canada and internationally;
-- Cosmopolitan affirms that Universal Public Healthcare system and related services should be a basic and fundamental human right, not subjected to capricious legislative infringements on such universal public healthcare access by Canadians;
-- Cosmopolitan embraces the need to promote public sector not-for-profit activities. Such activities support the quality-of-life attainments of the diverse Canadian public, via the provision of public services, including supporting "ecologically sensitized hydro", that is affordable to the diverse public
-- Cosmopolitan seeks to promote the need for environmentally-sensitized community economic development;
- Cosmopolitan further supports the need to promote Canadian sovereignty and independence that affirms socially responsible government on behalf of Canadians.

    This is so vague that I find it difficult to take this seriously. Please give us something to go on here, some mandate, some plan, vision etc. Who are you, what is your background and experience? I would hate to see another party with good intentions perish because no info is available. Just wondering?

    Please direct these sorts of questions to the person/email posted above. Vive le Canada.ca has no further information.

    Sorry we don\'t know more. I asked for more details and they didn\'t give me much beyond what was posted. If you do get more info, please do feel free to pass it on to me at susan.thompson@vivelecanada.ca, or post it.

    Just what we need, another cheesy party that will only undermine a unified movement of the left. More vote splitting. Yippee! Perhaps the fools should go home until we get proportional representation.....and don\'t give me the \"Democratic-rights\" shpiel.

    I admire the effort - but I already see the conclusion. Unless this start-up is fantastically wealthy or willing to sell their soul to the corporate world to get said money, they are in for an uphill battle.

    The Canadian Democratic Movement was founded to be a political vehicle, we ran with it, we grew it, we saw some early success. With time, we realized what others here have said - we would only further split the real left vote and that would result in nothing more than a detriment to the very aims we sought to achieve.

    If they read this (I will mail them as well), please consider putting your efforts behind a unified NDP/CAP coalition at this present time. It really is the only avenue to success at this junction in Canadian history. It takes real nerve to move away from big plans. It tore us apart when we had to decide, but it was necessary, and now a couple of years on, we are seeing the fruits of our labour and a very bright light at the end of the tunnel.

    Press on - and either way - its good to know there still are groups with the forethought and conviction to make such a move.

    If there was ever a time for Canadians to become pushy - now is the time - for time is running out on this nation called Canada.

    Yes, I would like to see Cosmopolitan line up in lockstep with an NDP-Canadian Action Party coalition. We quickly need a strong left wing party to challenge the corporate fascist Liberals and PC-Alliance whatevers.

    I have to agree. There\'s every indication that a united left/centre left would have the potential to gain support far beyond the traditional NDP support base, and with a united right seemingly a done deal, I can\'t see any other immediate way to build a strong political alternative.

    However, I do think the fact that others are committed enough to sovereignty to try to do things like this indicates that opposition to continued integration is growing, and to me that\'s a very hopeful sign. Let\'s just all keep building bridges where we can and make this a movement forward.

    I also agree. I have read their site and was very interested in what they had to say and the way they said it. I have already contacted the party to ask for the sake of Canada to take the excellent work that they have already completed and join in the discussions with the NDP/Canadian Action parties. I believe that others should be encouraging them by e-mailing them as we contacted Jack Layton. This is a project for all Canadians and not the few. Thanks.

    I agree. We cannot keep splitting the vote, we have to consolidate our power and try to move the steam-roller Liberals to see another point of view.

    Too many centre-left-wing parties will not win any election. We have to rally behind a reality that we are up against a juggernaught.

    The only way to stop the Liberals is to get our act together, and support One Cause !!

    Please consider that all the parties on the left do not have the weight of the parties on the right.

    Therefore, we need to make our stand at the centre-left, and gather all our votes to that end.

    If we have another Liberal majority (false or otherwise) we will see our country move further to assimilation with the U.S. dollar, and eventually as a territory of the U.S.

    Remember, that doesn\'t mean we will become a state, we may become another Puerto Rico North, with no right to vote, and basic service wages, with no benefits, that we are used to. We could also end up as 13 territories, and become divided like a bunch of Puerto Rico North\'s, with no rights in any province. We cannot think of giving our sovereignty up to the U.S under any conditions !!

    I do not like that perception.

    Just to let you all know, the Cosmopolitan party is a one-man party
    run by a guy that owes me over $5000 for web design that he did
    not pay for. I sued him in small claims court and won, but he is
    ever so slippery when it comes to being able to collect the cash.
    Did you know that in this country, all you need to do to evade
    being served with contempt of court papers in a civil case is not
    answer your door? The leader of the Cosmopolitan party knows!

    This party has one candidate, the leader of the party. Please,
    please, don't waste any of our tax dollars by accidentally casting a
    vote for him in protest. He goes by more than one name, is
    sometimes Raymond Samuels, sometimes H. Raymond Carby-
    Samuels, and various combos of these names, but beware. He is
    a debtor, knows how to work the system, and is not to be trusted.

    I heard about this person named Nancy. It appears to be a greedy person who make crappy web pages great at making stories. Please rest assured that she is not owed $5,000.00, and refrain from using any of her services.

    Gee I wonder if a guy named H. Raymond Carby-Samuels, II is really Mister Anonymous? What do you all think?

    Hey Mister Internet Entrepeneur, future Prime Minister of Canada (ha ha ha ha), you might not want to forget that there are people from South Bend who remember what a jerk you were to them, too. When they stuck up for you and got their asses kicked for you. Remember my name, you SOB?

    Pay up, deadbeat. The stratosphere of the oppressive social system personified by the administrations subsequent to whoever you love in Canada can't hide this fact: You owe money. So hawk all the internet schemes you want, but please don't post another anonymous message written just like you used to write in the ninth grade. It's old. The Man may be a theme, but for you, it should be old hat.

    What's my name?
