LONDON, ONT. -- Canada must stand with the United States to fight terrorism, says U.S. Ambassador Paul Cellucci. Montreal, Toronto or Windsor could be targeted like Madrid, Cellucci warned an audience of about 300 at the University of Western Ontario yesterday.

Canada could be attacked at any time and the first place I'd look is south of the border for who to blame. I wouldn't put it past Cellucci's government to attack us "al Qaeda" style just to FORCE Canadians to be concerned and armed to the teeth and then presto! la de da walking about free as birds and happy as little children in a playpen safe and sound. God I can't stand this man. He embodies all the most disgusting things I have ever known to be American. Notice how he tries to deflect what he's saying onto Colin Powell. (Although I'm sure Colin Powell did tell him to pressure us.)

They're all on panic mode because first Spain and now Poland are wanting out of Iraq. Husha Husha they all fall down! Yeah! That's what will make me feel like I can safely walk around.

Cellucci is right. If we stay close to the US militarily, we will become a target.

Send this jerk home and tell him to crawl back into his little mind.

He has nothing to say that I want to hear.

Never underestimate the lengths to which the CIA will stoop.

I know it might be safer, but there's a reason I don't live behind bars and armed guard. I hardly call the American police state "free", as they so often do.

On a side note, last year Gordon Campbell erected a chain link fence around BC's parliament around the time he was making all the budget cuts, and shortly after he was arrested for Drunk Driving in Hawaii (or was that the year before?). Anyways, it's nice to see him working where he belongs -- behind bars.

Wake up posters. Islamic terrorists want to kill infidels and that includes anyone not of the Wahibi sect of Islam, that means almost all Canadians would fit their definition. Do they slaughter people in Churches in Pakistan because they don't like George Bush? No, they kill them because they consider them infidels, that's it. They tried to take out the World Trade Center while Clinton was still President in 1993, George Bush wasn't even on the political radar then. Taliban style governments across the middle east are a recipe for disaster, democratization is the answer.

    Anon,

You fit well in the culture of fear. Maybe I can assume you watch allot of American television, especially american news source. It would explain the fear you have.

Now don't get me wrong I do understand there is a slight threat to Canada. BUT, to speak of facts here. Canada has had a fairly good reputation across the world. The U.S NOT. Of course Canada's reputation is slowly fading with the U.S ties, but I hope will change.

Mark my word that if Canada does become more integrated with the U.S we will become targets for sure. This can be avoided if Canada would stay further away from the U.S. Started being a country and not a colony. If Canada would become the country they were supposed to be before Mulroney turned it into a colony. They would today be able to influence good change in the world with other countries following along. There needs to be a country taking a stand for good in this world. Not profits, not greed. No invasions. No business relationship with evil doers. Important to note Canada used to be known across the world as being a country that represents all of the above. Problem now is how can they hold a reputation when they now move towards supporting future invasions.

Canada would not be a target ever. If only we were Canada a country, and not Canada the United States of American.

Islamic fundamentalists want to kill infidels and regardless of our relationship to the Americans, we're considered infidels. They kill other muslims mostly, but Christians and Jews too. Figure it out, they make no demands except that we cease to exist because we're infidels. Fear of this religious terror is what caused the Spanish electorate to act so cowardly, and Al-Qiada will use it politically for short term gains, but in the long term Spain will of course be hit again because the Islamics still consider 'Andalusia' occupied territory.

I do think Canada should have its own well thought out policy on defense and such, and it should bring back funding to the military but it shouldn't be influenced by America.

I wish these fear mongers would go away, if you listened to Manley and others, they are pointing out our weak spots almost like saying, hey hit us here! It is sickening really, media and gov trying to make Canadians believe we must conform else, we are doomed. I wish they would stop letting Cellucci speak to Canadians period, or at least have someone from the opposite view speak to the issues as well.

Much as I dislike the man, he does have a point Jim.<p> In 1998, Al Queda said it would atack America, and islamic countries that were sympathetic to America.<p> On September 11, 2001 they did. They also attacked Bali and Turkey, and 911 days after 2001/09/11, they attacked Spain.<p> In November 2002 Osama named Canada as a target for our role in Afghanistan. We are a target, whether we want to be or not.<p> <p>---<br>"History does not repeat itself, but it does rhyme" Mark Twain <br />

I kinda hope they do blow something up here. (Al Queda or the CIA, whomever) Canada needs a good kick in the complacency to wake up the tiger that we used to be.<p> I just hope the loss of life is limited to 1 Islamist extremist and his donkey cart.<p> <p>---<br>"History does not repeat itself, but it does rhyme" Mark Twain <br />

For people to say Muslim extremists will attack us because we are infidels is just plain ignorant. Terrorism does not happen in a vacuum. Terrorism occurs for a reason.

If the US stays at home and minds it's own business, and if Israel pulls out of the occupied territories then we will see some changes in this world.
