THE DZIEKANSKI CASE

Mr. Day said the government takes the matter seriously and recognizes that Canadians "must continue to have full confidence in their national police force." He said he expects Mr. Kennedy to provide its initial assessment to him by Dec. 12. "The RCMP is committed to fully co-operate with this review, as well as the other investigations into this incident." Mr. Day also noted that the RCMP probe into the case could result in criminal charges. Canadians - and the international audience now seized by Mr. Dziekanski's death at the Vancouver airport - will get a first glimpse this week at what happened during the 10 hours prior to the Polish man being tasered by the RCMP. Mr. Day also announced yesterday that the Canadian Border Services Agency will release a report within days that will provide new details on Mr. Dziekanski's videotaped death that has created an international storm. The agency "has had the time to do a thorough analysis of the matter, including all of the camera checks, the interviews with any individuals who may have come in touch with this gentleman, and I have asked that the report come out quickly with recommendations," Mr. Day told the House of Commons yesterday. The agency has been ordered to make itself available to answer questions once the report is released, he told reporters earlier in the day, and said he welcomed British Columbia's decision to call a public inquiry into the incident. http://www.theglobeandmail.com/servlet/story/LAC.20071121.TASER21/TPStory/National

One really has to wonder what is happening to society.
The Dziekanski Case hopefully will be the event that brings us all to harmony
Thankfully the news media, Canadian and international, appears to be in relentless pursuit of the full details of this shameful tragedy. For the RCMP to stand around and waste precious time and wait for an outsider to check for signs of life is unacceptable.
Last nights Global carries an interview with a fire fighter, (they pride themselves on being first at a scene) who not only pointed out there is a heart fibulator not 20 seconds away from where Mr. Dziekanski was tasered, and also that a call never went out to emergency services

This question has bee asked for as long as I remember and longer
“ Will it take a tragedy before protocols are put in place to prevent such events from ever occurring again?”

I have, and will continue to attack those responsible for the harm or death of of anyone they, the hired help, are there to keep safe.
Their motto IS Maintiens le droit, French for "Uphold the law" and the did not in this case. They are also known as “The Force”, although ‘to be reckoned with’ is not an official part of their motto it has become so

I propose black arm bands be worn to signify the death of honour this institution may have once had
