Letter To Bill O'Reilly

Canada's Air Force is sending two CH-146 Griffon helicopters to assist the U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) in covering the Boston Search and Rescue (SAR) area of responsibility. Elite rescuers from Vancouver who saved 119 lives in St. Bernard near New Orleans were that community's first real sign of relief, days before U.S. rescuers moved in. More Canadian military aid is on standby, including field hospitals. Air Canada was the first foreign air carrier to land in the city, bringing bottled water and transporting flood victims to safety. Premiers and mayors have offered hydro teams, paramedics, police, firefighters and equipment. Canadian universities are opening their doors to American students affected by Hurricane Katrina. The schools said they will admit undergraduates who were enrolled at Louisiana and Mississippi universities that have been closed indefinitely by flood damage. Canadian government officials also said they would start dispatching 35 divers Sunday to help with the massive rescue effort. One of the divers! tasks would be to inspect levees. Canadian Red Cross. !!In the coming weeks we will send at least 100 volunteers to the region, then more as required. It is the most effective way that we can help our counterparts in the US,!! Shropshire said. The Canadian Red Cross does not recruit new volunteers for this type of mission, but relies on its existing pool of people who have experience responding to disasters in Canada. Canadian auto parts manufacturer Magna International will bus more than 400 people from the devastated U.S. Gulf Coast to its facilities in Florida, where a spokesman said they can stay until November. Canada is pledging its support through the International Energy Agency (IEA) in response to oil supply shortages in the U.S. Canada will contribute about 91,000 barrels of crude oil per day to the IEA's effort. Public Health Agency of Canada officials have been in contact with their counterparts at Health and Human Services (HHS) in the United States to offer National Emergency Stockpile System (NESS) supplies to assist in the relief efforts. A Canadian Forces aircraft has been made available to transport Canadian Red Cross personnel to Texas. Our Embassy in Washington is organizing a benefit for relief assistance of the hurricane Katrina. http://www.canadawebpages.com/pc-editorial.asp?Key=1737&editorType=news&editorPrimeKeyword=usa&editorLink=

    You know Bill O'Reilly realy gets under my skin. But not enough to ever steep down to his level. What level may that be? well the level of complete arrogance, and complete full of himself.

    If Fox news becomes the 1# news source in Canada. That will just give me less hope of Canada's future. I don't agree with a Liberal slanted media, but I don't agree with a Conservative slanted media. Why can't we just truly have a balanced news source. Maybe its not possible.

    It would be nice, but the media is in bed with big industry. Its all a play to distract us from reality.

    One day soon, I really hope the american people wake up, and then we will see O'Rielly dragged out into the street and shot, much like Yasser Arafats brother, for being a corrupt deceptive bastard.

    If Canadians think that listing ALL the ways in which we are aiding the US in this crisis to Bill O'Reilly and then expect accolades from him prove we "do" aid while shinning our fingernails on our lapels only to create a false sense of caring rather than a genuine desire to aid someone in need. Why bother Canada! Get me a puke bucket!

    O' Reilly is such an ass. The right-wing is full of sexual predators (O' Reilly) and junkies (Limbaugh) and they have the audacity to pontificate from some high horse.

    O'Reilly's got a point, you know.<br />
    <br />
    "...Nor is it clear if the Canadian military would be able to render effective assistance if called upon to do so. Case in point: the naval task group sent from Halifax to join relief efforts in Louisiana does not include the one vessel most suited to relief operations. The 35-year-old supply ship HMCS Preserver, veteran of the 1991 Hurricane Andrew relief mission in Florida, recently failed post-refit trials and is not considered seaworthy. Its absence from the scene has gone largely unnoticed by the public, and neither the navy nor the government have been eager to advertise this shortcoming..."<br />

    Why we allow a "lowlife" like Bill O'Reilly to even strike our collective nerve is beyond me. He's a ranting, raving fool and an embarrassment to both watch and hear. I'm sure he's also an embarrassment to his fellow journalists in the U.S. What we can do, to silence the uneducated like him, is to be the good neighbours that we are. Ready, willing and able to help our friends in the U.S. We need no accolades. We are a wonderful nation of givers. And I applaud Ambassador Wilkins for his kind thank-you to our nation. Mr. O'Reilly suffers from "small man syndrome" He knows he will never command the respect that the Peter Jennings/Dan Rathers and Tom Brokaws of mainstream media do. So he blusters, fusses and generally makes a lot of noise to get attention......But respect, never. And he knows it. He's a "wannabe".

    O'Reilly is Hitlerite vermin at its worst. Why even bother answering such garbage. It only gives him a tiny bit of credibility. The only answer for crap like him is a small jail cell with a couple of gay HIV-infected bikers.

    Canada should list what they give the USA in aid, because the United States gives Canada nothing but Bull Shit.

    The USA is a Nation of 2 faced twits. One had they talk about how they are the most powerful country in the world, and now they are grabbing their ankles because they know they are over stretched with the war in Iraq.

    I think the USA is a fukkin' joke.

    Canada sells it's oil to the USA and then buys the refined gasoline back at higher prices. They should halt all Canadian resources to the U.S. and find new markets in Asia, Russia and fukk the U.S.

    Keep Canadian resources for Canadian first.

    Here is my 2 cents... I sent a letter to Billy myself. :o)<br />
    <br />
    --------------------------------<br />
    <br />
    Dear Mr. Reilly, <br />
    <br />
    Your attacks on Canada for not providing aid to the "richest country in the world," and supposedly "the most powerful," is a little confusing. <br />
    <br />
    Canada is sending 1000's of Canadian Forces, war ships, water purification, medical supplies and food aid to the gulf region. Also, Canadian citizens are opening their pocket books and donating to the Canadian Red Cross in record numbers. <br />
    <br />
    We are providing aid. <br />
    <br />
    Nevertheless, why should Canada or any nation be offering up assistance to the United States at this point. If it were not for the war in Iraq taxing your budget and military, the United States would not need the aid from foreign nations. <br />
    <br />
    Take responsibility for your own short falls as a nation, you are starting to sound like one of those Liberal Hippie Welfare Grabbing Democrats at the New York Times you so often lambaste on your program who are quick to blame everyone else for their own problems. <br />
    <br />
    Sincerely,<br />
    <br />

    Giving aid to another nation in time of need is an act of generosity. Bill O'Reilly acts as if it's a requirement. <br />
    <br />
    O'Reilly should be ashamed of himself. <br />

    Very smart! Why didn't anyone think of that?!

    Maybe something to do with pipelines, foreign ownership, and refineries, perhaps?

    Eh, Sherlock?

    Bill is a blatant liar.A corporate SWINE.

    "No-spin zone"... oh yeah right...

    Boycott the fascist Fox network.They are a mouthpiece
    of the republicans.

  14. Fri Sep 09, 2005 3:35 pm
    Yeah, blame the Liberals for that. Allowing so much of Canada to be bought up by the American, Canadians no longer own their own country.

    I thought at one time, pre Free Trade Agreement, Canada use to have a law that required any main industry to be %60 Canadian ownership..???

    Most of the Lumber companies are U.S. or foreign ownership, Alberta oil companies such as Shell, Chevron are U.S. based.

    I guess Canadian will for ever be grabbing their ankles like the Bitches they are and continue to be raped in the ass by the USA.

    Maybe, Al Qaeda had it right. Bomb the mother fucking pipeline in Canada and cut off U.S. oil supplies. oops
