RCMP Needs Rebuilding - In Public View

Posted on Monday, June 18 at 17:26 by BC Mary
That would be necessary if the RCMP problems stopped at pension abuses, its mystery intervention in the last election, the affair or bizarre and deadly operational failures. Sadly, those are only parts of a repeating pattern. With depressing regularity, the RCMP wanders to the dark side. It has burned barns, dipped into federal sponsorships funds, spied on political parties and blinked at internal wrongs. Connect those dots and find two common denominators. One is an unstable relationship with politicians; the other is a cultish, xenophobic cohesiveness that thwarts oversight and reform. At times the RCMP bows to political pressure, more frequently hiding its tracks from its elected masters. Asia-Pacific protesters got the rough 1997 ride Jean Chretien's handlers wanted, and both the Arar inquiry and the 1981 McDonald commission inquiry measured the distance between truth and what ministers were told. The result is a poisonous mix of pragmatism and fear. Sensitive to its power and usefulness as well as keenly aware that the RCMP still commands more public esteem than politicians, parties default to its defence until the weight of evidence makes criticism safe. http://tinyurl.com/yolb4d [Proofreader's note: this article was edited for spelling and typos on June 20, 2007]

Just like with Air India, we're hearing from the government that we don't need a full inquiry. And, just like with Air India, when the full inquiry comes, we'll know they were covering up lots of interesting things beyond the pension fund scandal... lots of interesting rumours I've been hearing as to what's to come out.

Well mary dear, perhaps it is time you started to realise that all the King’s horses and all the King’s men will be creating the same monsters when the put the Queen’s Cowboys back together again
Or perhaps some study in communitarianism at http://nord.twu.net/acl/evolution.html will aid you in understanding what is truly going on in the world you are unaware of.

I like many other and perhaps even you want a responsible and accountable state system, one where all branches of government are here to serve us as the employees they are. For whatever reason you become irritated when it is stated that others have held the opinions those of the so called intelligentsia only lately to have come to. And speaking of come to, I suggest you wake up to some facts of what is and what is not.
I have as I type this a former RCMP undercover officer visiting and we speak of the corruption at a level you in your arrogance will n=ever know much less understand.
I say this not as a brag but as one who is fortunate enough to be in the company of people you seem not to understand.

Is this clear enough for you, or do you require a translator?
Then perhaps instead of casting stones at Mary for an article SHE DID NOT WRITE but posted for us all to see, you should use your “superior insight” to enlighten us as to EXACTLY what is going on without resorting to philosophical theories or personal comments. Give us the FACTS then so that we mere mortals may make up our mind.

Hey Rural.
What’s that old saw about casting stones?
Ya see Rural, mary stated throwing stones not long after her entry here but when the ‘favour’ was returned started to cry bloody murder.

That you sneeringly refer to that which is not. ‘superior insight’ of consider yourself ,and others here as ‘mere mortals’ speaks more loudly of your character than that you see mine as.

Over my time here I have presented facts on this topic, on the topic of corruption in the courts and what that corruption has done to two of my friends who no longer pursue their careers in law.

It is quite charming of you to step in at the defence of mary when ‘you ‘see her slighted, but have you taken the time to chastise her when she takes swipes at any she deems targets for the stones she throws?
Be careful of the beliefs you hold my friend and who is in need of your ‘protection’ before you go all Lancelot.

Oh! and by the way would you care to comment about my support of mary, when I've done that, or are you only concerned with criticisms

Those of you who feel the need to "correct" my thinking, are you so shallow as to believe i do not sit in judgement of myself or use the same yardstick in taking my measure?
if you do then you have sorely misjudged me

In case you “missed it
Rural the following bit of contemptuous shit is what sparked the latest in a long line of exchanges between mary and me

“What's even more pathetic is for anyone (while beating chest) howling "I
am so great, I am so wise, I knew this all along ..." So what? Superior
intellects come with a social responsibility, wouldn't you think?

There's nothing admirable about insisting that everyone else is stupid.
There's nothing remotely credible about announcing repeatedly that one
is some sort of superior being who even speaks a superior language,
for cryin' out loud. Blush, if you can.

Here's a tip: it's not about you. Or you. It's about major structural issues
within British Columbia.”

Is it your opinion then, Rural, which this ad hominem attack posted in response to a post of mine is not ‘casting stones’?

In my opinion you, Rural have fallen victim of more of mary’s “ Let’s you and him fight”
As you overlook in what appears to be hero worship the ‘faults of one and not the other.
The fair thing to do would be to sanction BOTH (capper for emphasis only) her and I, would it not?
What is to be gained by choosing sided when both are guilty of boorish behaviour?
Do you to join in and further add fuel to the fire, as you have done or would it be wiser to quell those fires with admonishments for both parties?

The way I see it is you can ignore my questions or you can see the truth inthemand act accordingly by showing the balance you have brought to other topics
