OTTAWA—The Ontario Progressive Conservative party has no plans to change its name to mirror the right-wing federal Conservatives, says provincial Leader John Tory.
As the Ontario party concluded its annual convention yesterday, Tory took pains to underscore the differences between the national party of Stephen Harper and the "more moderate" provincial Tories.
"I was asked whether I had any plans to change the name and the brand of the party to coincide with that of the federal party and I said no," Tory said, referring to internal discussions during a Saturday seminar.
