McKenna Supported Gordon Campbell's Cuts

Posted on Wednesday, January 19 at 11:28 by Action-Jackson

In April 2001, Frank McKenna spent a week in B.C. helping the B.C. Liberal campaign to unseat the NDP government.

According to former NDP MLA, David Shreck, McKenna was upfront about his campaigning, saying "I don't like to be hypocritical about it. I know I'm partisan. There's no point hiding it."

McKenna went on to call for "dramatic change" in B.C. The "dramatic change" McKenna wanted was delivered -- the disabled were hammered, women's shelters were closed, the homeless population of Vancouver skyrocketed. And this is the man who is going to be our ambassador to the United States? Wrong choice Martin.

Old news to those of us in BC, but thanks for the link anyways because he has a decent outline of the faults to be found in the STV system of voting which is coming up for referendum.

while I will still vote yes because it is still better than first-past-the-post, it is nice to see someone spell out the problems and not seem so partisan in doing so.
