    America as a one-party state.

The extremes of communism and capitalism are more closely related than you would think at first glance.

Once a party is allowed to write all the rules, the rest of the parties can scream all they want, but the rules will not allow them to make a difference.

I think we are clearly witnessing the destruction of democracy in the US, and it\'s bound to spill over to us, we are simply too close to them.

I wish our politicians had the vision and guts to stay clear of this menace, but I fear we will go down that road.

If a Democrat was to beat Bush in the next election, any reforms he/she try to make would be held up in committees and such, perhaps for the entire 4 years, until a more reasonable (?) president is elected, meaning of course, a Republican.

It\'s not much fun to watch !

Absolutely true. It\'s a one-party state. Witness the fact that in 2000 they wouldn\'t allow Ralph Nadar to participate in the televised \'debate\'.
    Only the preordained need apply.
I vaguely remember a comment by Noam Chomsky to the effect that the choice between republicans and democrats is merely a choice between two branches of the same corporate America. Can\'t disagree with that. When the Enron scandal broke there was some tough talk about cracking down on corporate crooks. Meanwhile both parties were concerned with appearing to be too \'anti-business\'.

here is a very good link on this issue,.....

    http://globalresearch.ca/articles/CHO401D.html

and another link that may explain a bigger picture

    http://www.freepressinternational.com/au.html.....

which explains why Revenue Canada is giving every Canadian citizen\'s tax data to the American government.......

    http://cnews.canoe.ca/CNEWS/Canada/2004 ... 07878.html

all in all it seems we are headed possibly into a western hemisphere union, and i am not sure if it could happen this way, but they sure look like they are trying........

what i see coming is class warfare, the haves and the have nots, if you have a certain amount of wealth you can buy to stay alive and those whose income is zip, kiss this life goodbye, yes it sounds bizarre, but suppose this was the big picture, and what seems to be going on now is the prelude to the final act........

    (1) Consolidate everything....
    (2) Commercialize everything....
    (3) Classify everything....
    (4) Claim everything....
    (5) Control everything....

which may lead to this scenario......

    THEIR AIMS:......
    1. Abolition of monarchies and all ordered government....
    2. Abolition of private property and inheritances....
    3. Abolition of national culture and identity....
    4. Abolition of family life and the institution of marriage, and the establishment of communal education of children away from their parents.....
    5. Abolition of all religion .....

sounds scary, but very possible, just a thought...

Sounds like we are headed back to the middle ages, ruled by the few.

They better have very solid castles, there\'s a lot more people on this planet now.
