Legal Observers will be asked to attend the protests in teams of two, to document arrests, use of force, intimidating displays of force, denial of access to public spaces like parks and sidewalks, and any other behaviour on the part of law enforcement that appears to restrict demonstrators' ability to express their political views. <br />
<br />
Transportation can be arranged through local organizations. <br />
<br />
If you are interested in volunteering your time at this event, please contact Christina Godlewska, Articled Student at the B.C. Civil Liberties Association (<a href="http://www.bccla.org">www.bccla.org</a>).<br />

Alternatively you can simply email reports to susan.thompson@vivelecanada.ca and we'll post them for you.
We can offer a huge amount of exposure for these reports, since Vive is well-established (having been around since 2003) and is consistently one of the top or the top Google result for search terms like "deep integration" and "SPP protests". We receive averages of tens of thousands to hundreds of thousands of hits a day. We are read by people across Canada and the U.S., including politicians and mainstream media reporters, and have received national media attention frequently in the past.
We hope that during the SPP protests, we can be a vehicle to help counter the bias the mainstream media is likely to show and give a voice to those who are on the ground and witness to the events that take place, including everything from protest activities to turnout to police response.
But it all depends on you! Post those reports to Vive, and let your voice be heard!

Big business slams summit secrecy<br />
<br />
OTTAWA A leading North American business group fears Canadian-<br />
American relations have been hijacked by the U.S. Department of Homeland <br />
Security, with security concerns trumping efforts to enhance trade and <br />
economic prosperity.<br />
<br />
The Canadian American Business Council also believes that non-<br />
governmental organizations and so-called civil society groups not just blue <br />
chip corporate CEOs should be invited to participate in the Security and <br />
Prosperity Partnership.
