Its clear after the Iraq war that there was only one true mainstream voice that cut through all the Pentagon/White House bs and that was the CBC. That alone earns them a reprieve in my books.

If there was ever a time for Canadians to become pushy - now is the time - for time is running out on this nation called Canada.
I totally agree. During the war on Iraq the CBC was the only news source which I was able to go to that would give me a different look at the war. While the American and Global turned it into a reality tv show and spicing up the American war. CBC and the BBC gave us the other side of the story.
I should also give credit to CBS who did the show \"The moral of the war\" where they interviewed soldiers who were against the war, and who were voicing their concerns about the morals involved in fighting that war. Of course after this was aired CBS and the host got allot of pressure from the white house. They even asked that the host of the show be fired cause he was Canadian. They even mention how they many Americans were concerned about how many Canadians where working to give them News in the U.S.
Allot of it has to do with the fact that in the past they used Canadians to go over seas cause they were more welcomed there. So these Canadians are now still working for these news stations. Some Americans had a problem with this.

So CBC is ours. I hate that they have had to take on corporate advertising at all to keep themselves afloat. No advertizing would be my choice for CBC giving them more of a Canadian voice.
Thanks for posting this Kevin
