Undercover Cops Try To Start Riot At Quebec SPP Protest?

This was originally posted by spanky in the comments to the Victoria protest eyewitness report (see: http://www.vivelecanada.ca/article.php/20070821172011945 ). But I thought it deserved its own story: (Quoting spanky) If you haven't seen it yet, be sure to checkout the Youtube video showing a union organizer foiling an attempt by rock wielding, masked agent provocateurs to start a riot and bring on an attack by the riot cops waiting nearby. More than likely these guys were undercover cops as near the end of the clip you can see them running eagerly into the arms of the waiting riot cops instead of running in the opposite direction as you might expect a real, rock throwing anarchist to do. The union guy states in the video that he challenged one of them during the confrontation and accused him of being a cop and from the reaction he got, he was sure he was right. Now that's fearless leadership! You go Mr. Coles. Those undercover goons need to check themselves.

Thanks sthompson for posting on the main page. I guess this is the type of policing we can look forward to seeing more of under the SPP - more fascist, COINTELPRO type tactics by those appointed to "serve and protect." I am sure Orwell could appreciate the irony.

A Short History of FBI COINTELPRO

by Mike Cassidy and Will Miller

The FBI and police used secret and systematic methods of fraud and force

In early 1971, the FBI's domestic counterintelligence program (code named "COINTELPRO") was brought to light when a "Citizens Committee to Investigate the FBI" removed secret files from an FBI office in Media, PA and released them to the press. Agents began to resign from the Bureau and blow the whistle on covert operations. That same year, publication of the Pentagon Papers, the Pentagon's top-secret history of the Vietnam War, exposed years of systematic official lies about the war.

SNIP

Although covert action will be adapted to changing social and technological conditions, only a limited number of methods exist. A study of COINTELPRO revealed four basic approaches.

* First, there was infiltration. Agents and informers did not merely spy on political activists. The main purpose was to discredit and disrupt. Their presence served to undermine trust and scare off potential supporters. They also exploited this fear to smear genuine activists as agents.

* Second, there was psychological warfare from the outside. They planted false media stories and published bogus leaflets and other publications in the name of targeted groups. They forged correspondence, sent anonymous letters, and made anonymous telephone calls. They spread misinformation about meetings and events, set up pseudo movement groups run by agents, and manipulated or strong-armed parents, employers, landlords, school officials and others to cause trouble for activists.

* Third, there was harassment through the legal system, used to harass dissidents and make them appear to be criminals. Officers gave perjured testimony and presented fabricated evidence as a pretext for false arrests and wrongful imprisonment. They discriminatorily enforced tax laws and other government regulations and used conspicuous surveillance, "investigative" interviews, and grand jury subpoenas in an effort to intimidate activists and silence their supporters.

* Fourth and finally, there was extralegal force and violence. The FBI and police threatened, instigated and conducted break-ins, vandalism, assaults, and beatings. The object was to frighten dissidents and disrupt their movements. In the case of radical Black and Puerto Rican activists (and later Native Americans), these attacks, including political assassinations, were so extensive, vicious, and calculated that they can only be accurately called a form of official "terrorism." (emphasis added)

http://albionmonitor.net/9905a/jbcointelpro.html

I just viewed it and the agitators sure did look like cops. It's hard for these thugs to do their dirty work with a lot of cameras around. At least one of those cops can be identified.

This was mentioned in the article <a href="Barlow">http://www.canada.com/nationalpost/news/story.html?id=8775f9c1-60aa-4c68-a242-e418cfa0547f">Barlow pleased as CEOs urge input from legislatures in SPPpublished by the National Post (!)
"A video posted online to YouTube from Monday's protests shows Dave Coles, president of the Communications, Energy, and Paperworkers Union of Canada, accusing three men dressed as "Black Bloc" anarchists of being police agents sent to provoke violence. The trio refused to remove their bandannas, and were taken into custody behind a line of riot police to the derision of protesters."
Thats one small step for an officer in the public trust to become a goon.

And one giant leap for Tyrany for any society that tolerates it.

If anything good can come out of this, it'll be with the awakening of a lot more people to the harsh reality of what's really been going on in this country over the last few years. We'll have to work very hard to get rid of all the parasites that have infested and corrupted our government. Hopefully enough people will wake up before its too late, assuming we're not yet past the point of no return.

All of this crap that we see before us takes us right back to the 9/11 scam that kicked it all off.
