If the Fraser Institute will let Mike Harris become a member, I wouldn\'t trust a word they say. He was my provincial premier, until he saw the light and knew he would lose the next election, so he quit.

Sounds like a leader to me.

However, a provincial police force that stands against the gun registry is a good idea. Go for it.

You know it seems to me that the Alberta gov has something to hide from the RCMP, else they wouldn\'t be considering this, the RCMP have a fantastic reputation not only in Canada but in the world. When travelling from province to province you know what to expect from the RC\'s, that is not the case with provincial police, they report to the premier and that is not a good thing! The idea of saving money is ludicrous, how much do you think it would cost to train an entire force to think like a redneck? The gun registry is not widely liked in this country not only the west, but that is an issue which has to do with the Ottawa gang, Mr. Rock etc. The RC\'s are not the bad guy here, the politicians are the ones trying to control the masses, so that when they complete the sell out we can\'t defend ourselves! Yikes, Germany deja vu?

The Fraser Institute\'s more fundamental position could be stated thusly: the Government should not be in the business of enforcing the law. That function should be left to the marketplace.

I made a huge mistake. Of course the RCMP should be left in place, the cost would be too great to change it.

However, the politicians don\'t run the country anymore, that\'s left to big money and the banks.

Want to become an American ?? Just wait a few years. Then King Ralph will simply become a governor, or something like that.

    Who really knows ?
