Bonus! When that happens over here, even more of our electricity can be diverted off to the USA.

When everyone lights candles so they can see, won't this increase CO2 emissions? Or what about all the flashlight batteries that'll end up in the landfills? How will the power companies make up for lost revenue?

"How will the power companies make up for lost revenue?"

The usual rate hikes of course.

The whole thing is a big scam designed to take away more of what little money you have.

Canada produces more electricity than it needs so it can sell the "excess" off to the USA for profit.

I once asked someone in the know at BC Hydro why they spent so much money and effort trying to convince us that we should be reducing our use of domestic electricity. His reply was quick and simple: "It's being done so that we can sell more electricity at a higher margin to the USA."

The bottom line is that we're being fed excrement for information, and unfortunately, we're happily lapping it all up.
