US Terror Alert Becomes Political Football

Posted on Tuesday, August 03 at 18:12 by Jesse
It certainly sounded like an emergency, at least to hear Homeland Security Secretary Tom Ridge tell it. "The quality of this intelligence based on multiple reporting streams in multiple locations, is rarely seen, and it is alarming in both the amount and specificity," he said. Ridge also gushed about "the President's leadership in the war on terror," to which he conspicuously credited this lifesaving, four-year-old information. This government just makes me laugh. That's all you really can do anymore. They are so transparent it's become a joke. If the terrorist threats were real then Ashcroft is a complete incompetent for announcing it all over the world. And, it only makes sense to me to announce it if you are the one fabricating the threats. If you have control over an attack taking place or not then why not tell everyone? It's like me thinking if there really is such a huge threat to the US by terrorists then why hasn't Bush been assassinated? (Aside from him not being worth the crime.)

Could Bush be the 1st US president elected in a "zero" year to NOT have an assissination attempt made on him? Or has there been one that we have not been told of? Or, could Bush have all ready BEEN assassinated, and what we see on the tube is some clever FX, courtesy of Speilberg & Lucas, et al? I mean, a guy who looks like Alfred E. Newman CAN'T be real, can he?
---
RickW

I think he was already dead. Brain dead, anyway. Ashcroft
lost to a dead man, why couldn't Gore?

America needs more Canadians-- or just more folks birthed on
non-American soil. This country's government IS indeed, perhaps,
the most "transparent" with its motives on the planet. True, but the
most disgusting element to consider here is that a gross number of
Americans-- and others around the world-- buy what the American
government force-feeds them. Without the support of misguided
morons, the US government would have a very difficult time being
the behemoth ogre that it is. The use of the term "football" is so
right-on. Entertainment, people, pure entertainment for profit, that's
all it is.
