It certainly sounded like an emergency, at least to hear Homeland Security Secretary Tom Ridge tell it. "The quality of this intelligence based on multiple reporting streams in multiple locations, is rarely seen, and it is alarming in both the amount and specificity," he said.
Ridge also gushed about "the President's leadership in the war on terror," to which he conspicuously credited this lifesaving, four-year-old information.

non-American soil. This country's government IS indeed, perhaps,
the most "transparent" with its motives on the planet. True, but the
most disgusting element to consider here is that a gross number of
Americans-- and others around the world-- buy what the American
government force-feeds them. Without the support of misguided
morons, the US government would have a very difficult time being
the behemoth ogre that it is. The use of the term "football" is so
right-on. Entertainment, people, pure entertainment for profit, that's
all it is.
