Canadian terrorists shouldn't be allowed to get that close to carrying out a terrorist act, they should be stopped long before they're about to board a passenger jet. Jail, or deportation if that's possible, the government has a duty to all Canadians not to allow terrorists to carry their plans that far.
We live in a democratic society where ones rights remain no matter how some may label them. So... where is the burdon of proof? Who makes the list and what qualifies someone?

But I wasn't a radical, so I did nothing . . ."<p>

You're implying that a suicide attacker who flies an airliner into a building is simply a 'radical'? So he or she shouldn't be stopped because they're just 'expressing themselves' or something? --- It stops being a radical opinion when a whole bunch of people end up dead. That's murder.
So, why don't they just keep the supposed terrorists from buying plane tickets in the first place? It's not like they can't/don't ask for ID when you purchase it. That way, you aren't stuck at the airport wondering why you were denied boarding. It would also protect the airline employees.
No, he's implying that this is only the first step, using part of an old saying. A list that is compiled with neither process transparency nor public recourse leads to a police state, much like we're seeing happen in the US.
Yes Jesse, that is the question I have wondered, why wait until you are bording to say NO! Doesn't that also cause distress to the other people in line, the airline employee denying you access, the arguments that surely ensue when you know you shouldn't be on that list?

Like J said, they actual quote goes:<p>
First they came for the Communists, and I didn’t speak up,<br>
because I wasn’t a Communist.<br>
Then they came for the Jews, and I didn’t speak up,<br>
because I wasn’t a Jew.<br>
Then they came for the Catholics, and I didn’t speak up,<br>
because I was a Protestant.<br>
Then they came for me, and by that time there was no one<br>
left to speak up for me.<br>

You can't detain someone if you don't know where they are.<p><p>---<br>"If you must kill a man, it costs you nothing to be polite about it." Winston Churchill

Exactally! But that is still the reason they aren't denied buying tickets. They wait to get you to the security checkpoint before sending you to the loveley tropical destination of Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.<p>

That is the only way we can have freedom and security at the same time.
