Here\'s the backbone the NDP needs. Funny how Broadbent took more of an honest shot at the Liberals in his opening press conference with Layton at his side, than Layton ever has.

Here is an important comment from Ed\'s webpage - it gives me hope there is something in the wind.

\"For far too long the Liberals have taken this community for granted\", said Broadbent. \"But I, along with the help of our growing coalition of progressive people are going to do our best to change that.\"

The word coalition could mean anything, but perhaps it means they are willing to deal with other parties. (CAP ?)

I\'m getting ahead of myself because CAP is not going to release any info until Feb 6, but one can hope.

I grew up in Ottawa and \'honest Ed\' was always on the scene. I watched politicos come and go but always thought Ed gave as well as he got. I saw him almost shaking with fury at times at other times he was quietly seeking a way to work for the common man and bridge political differences.
He was a god to my cousins who worked at G.M. in his home riding in Oshawa.

I was sad to see him go. An honest opposition member who always had an eye for the political advantage...but always fair.

Not many jobs left in Oshawa at the G.M. plant.

I\'m glad he\'s back. The NDP can only be strengthened by this honourable man. And he looks pissed.....yay!
