Bricker said the mood in Quebec is extremely volatile, given the wild swings in voter preferences in the last few weekly polls. The challenge for the Tories is sustaining the level of support they got this week, he said. Bricker said the survey findings give neither the Conservatives nor the opposition Liberals, led by an embattled Stephane Dion, reason to want a quick election. ... http://www.canada.com/topics/news/politics/story.html?id=5aa24bc5-5294-4411-b604-e7e361dafab2

CanWest News Service and Global National conducted a poll that found the Conservatives ahead; next thing you know their news coverage will be slanted towards them...

Yes, people should ignore polls because its obviously a propaganda tool. Canwest, a conservative company, does a poll every WEEK. Meanwhile, they talk to less than one percent of the population (in all ontario they spoke to 330 people). Not only that, other pollsters show far less of a difference between the major parties:

    Decima: Con: 33 avg/mo. Lib: 31 avg/mo.
Angus Reid: Con: 32 Lib: 29
    Environics: Con: 33 Lib: 29
    Strategic: Con: 34 Lib: 29

There's no bias and wishful thinking here ...
OTTAWA - Fuelled by unprecedented support in Quebec, the federal Conservative party has zoomed to 42 per cent support among decided voters, a high water mark that puts Prime Minister Stephen Harper closer to his goal of winning a majority government, a new national Ipsos-Reid poll says.
Take away all the bullshit, and this is all you have left ...
OTTAWA - Prime Minister Stephen Harper does not have enough support to win a majority government, a new national Ipsos-Reid poll says.
or more simply stated ...
OTTAWA - Prime Minister Stephen Harper is still a loser, a new national Ipsos-Reid poll says.

Nobody called it democracy, we are talking about polls here. That sort of grassroots democracy has NEVER existed in Canada. It does to an extent in the US, and moreso in Switzerland, but certainly not in Canada.
