The war on Iraq--a country with longstanding aspirations toward weapons of mass destruction but with no evident stockpiles of them and no apparent connection to the assaults of September 11--was a manifestation of that American visionary projection.

<blockquote>"Never leave people in peace, because when they are in peace, you are nobody. Then they don't need you; your very purpose is gone. They need you only when there is danger; so create danger. Something I find so interesting is that in previous times, as in WWII, the governments went to great lengths to keep the people from becoming hysterical, don\'t create panic seemed to be the motto, so secrecy was the norm. The people didn\'t really want to know, they assumed their governments would tell them if it was productive for them to know, there was a sense of trust, probably unwarranted as we now know, but in great contrast is the present climate; the constant state of terror, the policy is still secrecy but it is create hysteria, create panic, keep the people freaking out about their neighbors, suspect everybody and everything! I guess the masses are easier to control if they are in a constant state of stress?

Fear is the the easiest & best way to control people. The Bush government can only get away with all the domestic disasters by pressing the panic button repeatedly.

And all Catholic Priests abuse boys.

No, power doesn\'t always corrupt. A system which allows money to BUY power corrupts.
