The changes are aimed at providing a less Draconian option than jailing such suspects indefinitely. But Mr. Cotler revealed yesterday that he is considering expanding their use to Canadian citizens, not just non-citizen immigrants. http://www.theglobeandmail.com/servlet/story/RTGAM.20050324.wterrorism24/BNStory/National/

Problem with an election is we get either Martin or Harper. Both are no goodnics.Again it is like choosing between Hitler or Stalin. They both work for the corporate elite.
    Here is a question.
Why is Canada so intent on following the US terror legislation? Are the governments planning something that is going to make the public violent?Perhaps a financial melt down?

What is a suspected terrorist? Is that like a seditionist?

Why don`t we all send Cotler letters telling him not only how we feel, but that since so many disagree, he`ll have to house arrest millions! I`ll go first!

There. Just sent my letter to the minister of the elitist legal system. If I get house arrested, or if I disappear, you`ll know why.

It will certainly save them money on building a massive prison for dissidents. You can now be incarcerated on your own dime.
Paving the way to our new reality.... fear and subservience.

Well, well! Do I hear dissention amoung the people!? Do I hear revolutionary comments?!
It is exciting to see that people are beginning to realize whats at stake here.
Is it far-fetched to think that we are on the eve of a major change? A change that will effect all of us.
Sweeping changes to borders, security, trade, commerce, almost all areas that effect the nation as a whole. that effect you and me right down to the very core of how we think, act, live, love etc.
Are just letters of protest enough!?
Someone mentioned fear and subservience. That is very close to the mark. The powers that be(corporate) are beginning to sense the frustration from a very large mass of people. People are demanding change.People are showing thier displeasure and the corporate political world is getting to ready to clamp down.
This is the fight i spoke of in an article i wrote. i ask the question again. What do you fight for,Kids or fun?

The laws are becoming stifiling so how corrupt is our government?

i think the canadian politicians and business leaders are the real terrorrists, committing treason, for selling Canada out to the americans.....

Hamas, Tamil Tigers, Hezbollah, Al-Qaeda etc. all send lots of Canadian cash out of the country to fund killing people. But Canadians don't mind, just as long as the people being killed are far away from us, even if they are Canadian. It is Canada's Coward Contract with terrorists - we give them money through charities or allow them to extort money from their communities here in Canada so they don't start killing Canadians on our own soil - a simple contract for a people who have lost any sense of moral principle and believe everything is relative.

Do they have a pink wrist bracelet version that stops someone giving money to charities or keeps them away from shopping centers? I think you're right, god knows where all this charity money is going. I think you should be in charge. :)

It just smells like another name for the Patriot act. You know, for our well-being, we will have our rights and freedoms stripped from us. Because people hate our freedom. huh? Does that make sense?
We are either "with them" in every decision, or we are "against them." Does that mean we support terrorism?
When I heard Bush say "Our experiment with democracy" Oh no...have they decided it's not working and have to tweak it until it serves them? And then of couse, as a matter of national security we will follow suit.
