The Spin On The London Attacks

I felt only disgust when that word "innocent" dropped from the mouths of Tony Blair and George Bush and Condoleezza Rice and Donald Rumsfeld — before the bodies were cold. There should be a rule that only those who are themselves innocent should be allowed to deplore the killing and maiming of the innocent. There is nothing innocent about Blair and Bush and Rice and Rumsfeld. They have to wash the blood off their hands first, every time they appear on television. Their motive for using the word innocent is the hypocritical, calculated use of the dead to further their side. London's bombings are liable to help President Putin of Russia to slaughter the innocent of Chechnya who are, in his mind, terrorists. With that steely, expressionless, chilling look that he showed on TV on Thursday, he doesn't even bother washing the blood off his hands. For the Putins, and Bushes, of this world, terrorism is bad but state terrorism is good. Ongoing violence permits those who practice violence to up the ante. Not to understand what is naive. Nor can we ignore the fact that the horror that happened in London was on the first day of the G8 summit in Scotland. For once, correlation seemed likely to mean causation. The link should go to www.straightgoods.com instead of .ca though. I notice the author does not mention the 1000 man bombing execise going on at the same time and places that the bombs were planted in. He does not mention Blair's refusal to investigate who was responsible for the security failures and accepts the cover story that the bombs were planted by "muslims" or their supporters, even though he does not single them out.
