I've found it interesting over the past few weeks and months how the hard left wing press has adopted the same tactics as the hard right wing. 'We can, and have never, done any good in Afghanistan' 'We cannot win in Afghanistan, because nobody ever has'

When confronted with facts like, we are doing the best we can with such a small force, and the CIA was supplying the Mujahadeen with weapons to fight the Russians - which are not available to the Taliban; and the fact we aren't trying to conquer Afghanistan . . .all that we seem to get is denial worse than a heroin addict.

Now it's 'women sold off as an income source' even though that is what they've done for GENERATIONS. And yet somehow the drought in the north, north west and west provinces is our tanks fault, even though they are in the south west. People seem to ignore that if our troops can do what they are there to do, 'rebuilding', that will mean improved irrigation and roads for farmers and perhaps droughts like this can be mitigated.

If only people were yelling as loudly for the disbanding of the obviously flawed and expensive NATO, as they are for these young girls. Don't people see how improvement to the infrastucture and security of these people will lead to the disbanding of the practice of dowery's ? Just look at Bangledesh and India if you want proof.
