BBC AT WAR (The Latest From Greg Palast)

However, the future for fake and farcical war propaganda is quite bright indeed. Today, Lord Hutton issued his report that followed an inquiry revealing the Blair government's manipulation of intelligence to claim that Saddam Hussein had weapons of mass murder threatening imminent attack on London.

Based on the Blair government's claim, headlines pumped the war hysteria: SADDAM COULD HAVE NUCLEAR BOMB IN YEAR, screeched the London Times. BRITS 45 MINS FROM DOOM, shrieked the Sun newspaper.

Given these facts only a sissy pacifist, a lunatic or a Saddam fellow traveler would fail to see that Prime Minister "Winston" Blair had no choice but to re-conquer it's former Mesopotamian colony.

Private interests are most interested in getting rid of any public broadcasters. This is why we have to lobby for keeping CBC as public a broadcaster as we possibly can. If anyone saw \"Chavez, inside the coup\" a documentary that showed how the coup was driven by six private tv stations slandering Chavez with nonstop propaganda. Venezuela has one public station that the ousters (CIA) tried to shut down so the people would lose contact with their leader. It was literally like a lifeline for the people during this desperate time. I need to get CBC to bring it back on it\'s really the best inspirational documentary I\'ve seen.

This reminds me of a situation in Alberta, the norm has always been, that the public broadcast system gives the head of government time to speak to the people for free, the same time is alotted to the leader of the opposition, also free. This is a value to democracy, this is the way that the people get to hear both sides of the story. In Alberta, since Klein has been in power he uses the taxpayers money to pay for time on a private t.v. station, which is not obligated to give the same time to the opposition. Therefore unless the opposition has the money..., no speak!

This is a great disservice to the people, it should not be optional, the politician\'s public address should be heard on public t.v., and both sides of the story should be available. In affect we are paying twice, (as we own the publicly funded stations)but then we are paying to hear only one side, through a private station paid for with our tax dollars.
