Beating The Drums Of War

The compulsory recall to military service has come about and materialized in almost complementary and balancing—if one can use these words for what seem to be actions of an adversarial nature—coordination with the timing of several other and important international events. The compulsory recall of ‘inactive servicemen’ in the United States might even go unnoticed in North America and most the world until analysts, historians and later generations look back at the present events unfolding in these contemporary times, years from now and place them into focus within a larger matrix of events. This could just be the ‘tip of the iceberg,’ but this seems to be nothing less than a watered down and concealed ‘military draft’ and it is only the continuation of a systematic conscription of military troops and former servicemen in a stealthy and cautious manner. This looks as if it is an unprecedented event in the recent military history of the United States; something that has not happened since the ‘full draft’ during the American war in Vietnam and the World Wars. The obligation of military service or military conscription was not initiated after the tragic events of 9/11—the trigger that augmented and accelerated the aggressive militarization of American foreign policy—nor during the Anglo-American invasion of Iraq in 2003. In fact the only time a draft has seriously been mentioned or entertained publicly is in the circumstances and likelihood that the United States should find itself attacking Iran or both Iran and Syria. http://www.globalresearch.ca/index.php?context=viewArticle&code=20060823&articleId=3042

    If you are an armed force vet in the US and subject to recall but aren't too thrilled at the thought of pounding sand in the Middle East or slogging through the mountain passes of Afghanistan on behalf of implementing the megalomaniacal Bush and PNAC/necon goals of establishing a world wide US hegemony, there is an out. <br />
    <br />
    Just send an email to someone from a US government email account saying you think that the official conspiracy theory on 911 is bullshit and that another investigation is needed to fully investigate what went on that day. Of course you will have to be prepared to possibly find find yourself up before a court martial, like US Army Intelligence Analyst, Sgt First Class Donald Buswell.<br />
    <br />
    Army: Doubting Official 9/11 Story Is ‘Disloyal To The United States’<br />
    <br />
    FT. SAM HOUSTON, Texas — Forty-one-year-old Sergeant First Class Donald Buswell is a hero. Having served over 19 years in the United States Army, Buswell has seen a lot of terrain. On April 15, 2004, he was injured in a rocket attack while serving a tour in Iraq. For this, SFC Buswell was given a Purple Heart. And until recently, Buswell was an Intelligence Analyst stationed at Ft. Sam Houston, Texas.<br />
    <br />
    But if one were to ask Buswell’s Commanding Officer what he thinks of the Sergeant, the response would likely sound a little bit more like, "No comment."<br />
    <br />
    Such were the words given to The Iconoclast by Lieutenant Colonel Jane Crichton after inquiring why SFC Buswell is the focus of an investigation initiated by Colonel Luke S. Green, Chief of Staff at Fifth Army in Ft. Sam Houston.<br />
    <br />
    According to unnamed military sources contacted by The Iconoclast, SFC Buswell "used his Government issued email account to send messages disloyal to the United States …" Because of these statements, SFC Buswell could soon find himself dishonorably discharged, court marshaled, or worse.<br />

    Good link Spanky, thanks for posting it.

    I'd really, REALLY love to see Bush and Cheney recalled into active duty without being able to weasle their way out of it.

    Oh yeah... they both DODGED active service. How patriotic.

    Yeah, I know. Never happen. But it would sure as hell be nice if it COULD.

    Maybe after they get a taste of REAL combat they'd have the smarts to end their expansionist escapades immediately.
