Update:
Excerpt of Mackay's speech at Herzliya:

There is finally one more thing I would like to discuss and it has been a topic of great discussion here. That is Iran. Canada is deeply concerned. Tehran must not be allowed to obtain nuclear weapons. We need to start talking seriously and creatively about what the international community can do and can do now and what resources we can draw upon. We will continue to speak up loudly to support Israel and to defend Israel as a democratic, legitimate nation in the UN, NATO, and other forums. I know that this is a distinguished platform, a great gathering, and an extraordinary county. - Source via Glenn Greenwald

I see that Canadian politicians are so willing to speak up loudly to support and to defend Israel. I just wish they were as enthusiastic in speaking up loudly to support and defend Canada.
Not a single shred of evidence points to Iran wanting anything more than a nuclear power plant. Further, under the NPT that Iran and the US both signed (but Israel did not), Iran is permitted to harness nuclear power for civilian purposes. Are Canadian politicians suggesting that I should be afraid for Israel because Iranians may be able to turn their lights on?
It all depends on the Americans plan of action. McKay and Harper are just testing the grounds for their buddy Bush. Rice was in the neighbourhood as well. I'm sure her and McKay have gotten together and discussed how to word properly, the report to Bush.

The logic seems to be that Israel must convince a country other than itself to wipe Iran off the map before Iran completes its nuclear power plant, because Iran plans on commiting suicide and attacking nuclear weaponized Israel through the generation of electricy ????

It's a very strange world we live in.
Let's give every nation in that section of the world a reason to go militarily insane (not to mention piss off EVERY muslim, both Shia and Suni alive on the planet when a declared "islamic republic" comes under assault).
As if Russia and China would stand idly by and watch an ally and trading partner (and reliable source of regionally local oil) go down in flames?
Yeah...really smart move if that's what they're planning.

Expect little from life and get more from it.
Let's go declare war on Iran.
