Expanding into new international markets involves higher risks and higher
costs for small business owners. Helping entrepreneurs navigate such issues as
intense competition, protectionist measures, complex multinational regulatory
and fiscal burdens, adapting to new logistical and cultural environments are
important parts of the mandate of federal and provincial organizations aiming
to encourage trade.

Yeh, right. A small business is recognized to have at least 300 employees, according to the Business Bank. The EU has no qualms about excluding Canada when it too can barter with the US. The USA has as many restrictions to the EU as they do to Canadian trade. Canada can sell it's soul to the USA or the EU but still "sells it soul." Business on Canada's side has more become, "What can we give you". Canada will make no better deal with the EU then it does with the USA. Selling ourselves short is becoming a trademark.
