American Cops Obey Canadian Traffic Rules

Posted on Saturday, February 21 at 19:49 by A. Leacock
Let us not forget the past--whenever Americans invaded sovereign nations without cause, they repeatedly fail to abide the local traffic laws. MacArthur's bold dictum said it best: "I will U-Turn!"

The chief of New York's Niagara Falls police force reminds us that even when armed Americans are breaking the law of other counties, they are doing it for justifiable reasons. Do you remember the total lack of regard for noise by-laws as U.S. soldiers tried to drive Noriega out of hiding in Panama City?

But, let's not dwell on the past.

This newfound respect for Canadian traffic laws can only be a good sign that the relationship between our countries is thawing. Perhaps they have forgiven us for cowardly failing to follow American troops into Baghdad, where--as we speak--Paul Bremer's chauffer-driven tank is double-parked and idling.

I guess I detect the sarcasm here, but I`m not laughing. The idiots still did not respect the fact that there was a border in place! All they had to do was radio to the Niagara Regional Police on the Canadian side, and they could have taken over the pursuit. But because of the recklessness, not only was a country violated, but a 39 year old woman was killed by the suspect in the carjacked vehicle. I remember Bill Graham reassuring me that this sort of thing wouldn`t happen again when I e-mailed him about the incident at the Detroit - Windsor tunnel. They should install, I don`t know what you call them, those very heavy gates that come up out of the ground.

Exactly Dave, or what happened to spike belts? and why is the border so easy to race through, why does anyone stop if it\'s that easy to cross??? These guys just love to play cowboys, Wyatt Earp syndrom I believe it\'s called!

This incident is appalling. It\'s just another example of the fact that Canada is not in control of our own security. The New York police chief said the officers did the right thing pursuing the vehicle. I wonder what he would be saying had it been one of his loved ones killed under these same circumstances?

I can just hear the offending offices, \"It\'s JUST CANADA, get over it\".

Ontario police are bound to strick high speed chase
proticol in order to prevent the loss of life. The U.S.
police violated them and as a result a mother to 2
    daughters is now dead.
This is what happens when too much off duty time is
    spent watching \"Cops\" and \"Amazing Police Chases\".
If this situation was in reverse, it would have made the
front page of USA Today and the proverbial poop would
be flying off the fan. God bless their Homeland
    Security.
We know where the problem lies, it starts with Chella.

I don't get it. Why didn't the Canadian police go ahead and arrest the NY police? Since it's inside Canada already the NY police were no longer police there (they were some cowboys acrossing boarder with dangerous firearms instead). I'd wonder how would those cow boys react if they got arrested in another country...

Most Cops in NY are underqualified underpayed young pricks on a power trip. I hate cops in America !!!! Most are really morons hiding behind a badge with a gun and think they are professional drivers. Like that retard NY state trooper who killed a woman on the Taconic State PArkway doing 90 in a 55 for no good reason at all. We need a system like Japan. NY STATE TROOPERS do a really crappy job at everything and are cowards!!!!
