Open Letter To Michael Sabia, CEO Of Bell Canada Enterprises

Of course, opponents to the SPP have had no say whatsoever in the implementation of the SPP as it is being pushed upon us in secret, without parliamentary debate, and without consulting with the average taxpayer. Nowhere was this more obvious then at the SPP summit between the leaders of the three countries and the NACC which took place last week in Montebello, Quebec. While the 30 corporations represented by the NACC had unfettered access to our leaders during this summit, the average tax payer was kept well away via a 25 KM "security" perimeter which was erected for the event. I guess we know who our elected officials really work for. This is not a partisan issue, the SPP agenda was started in March of 2005 by Paul Martin's Liberals. The SPP baton was handed to the Conservatives shortly thereafter, the only common thread is the group of corporations represented by the NACC. Should we be concerned that both major parties support this same treasonous agenda? What about the media's complicit silence in all of this? Canada is supposed to be a democracy, but its future appears to be in the hands of a small group of corporate elite. I for one am not interested in having my wage "harmonized" with my Mexican counterparts so that huge multi-national corporations can pad their bottom line. In fact, official SPP documents state that this wage harmonization between the three countries will be the most difficult part of this harmonization process. I guess I should have sympathy for these corporations as they seek to undermine my wage while increase theirs. Plus harmonized environmental policies between the three countries does not give me a warm feeling due to the lack of respect most corporations already have for the environment. What about human rights? I look forward to being treated like a Mexican. Even more alarming is the harmonization of our military, it is very feasible that under the SPP Canadian military will be taking orders from Americans. The U.S. Army has already been flexing their muscles in Canada as they were largely responsible from preventing a local activist group from renting a community center near the SPP summit in Montebello. I look forward to Canada being dragged into more illegal and immoral wars of aggression by the U.S. In summary, the SPP is a huge threat to Canadian sovereignty as corporations and other countries will have the power to supersede Canadian legislation. With regards to the secrecy surrounding its implementation, their very own documents use the phrase "Evolution By Stealth" to describe their methods. This is horribly undemocratic and borders on treason, and you are a part of it. I refuse to finance a company who is working towards the demise of my country. Feel free to contact me to discuss further. My Bell Canada telephone will still be in service until Tuesday...
