Layman says China, India, Russia, Pakistan, Brazil, the European Union, Iran are likely to ignore Treaty...

Oh wait, the point of the article is to attack the US, it's not about the Treaty. Okay then, carry on...

I`m not against attacking them all for ignoring the treaty ban. But I thought that beacon of light known as the USA was God`s gift to freedom, democracy, and all that`s good? Shouldn`t they be leading the way? No, leading the way on the good stuff, not weapons poliferation.

With the example the US has been setting re treaties, what can you expect those others to do? In fact I think it's time we ourselves started tearing up some quaint treaties, starting with NAFTA and any by our glorious Quislings were fool enough to give them WRT the World Court and the ICC...

Star Wars II (or is it III?) is being driven by old Cold War rivals, US, Russia & China. This "terrorist" thing is simply talking down to the people.
"TRADE with Asia is up, its investors flock to Africa's oil wells, its
businessmen agree cosy ties with African ministers. For Asia, read,
above all, China. Local analysts of African business are in a frenzy
about the new wind from the East. At a recent oil and gas conference in
Cape Town, speakers lined up to describe the rush. One produced a map
of Africa, highlighting new Asian oil interests: it was a forest of
Chinese flags."

And Vladimir Putin has announced that Russia has a "super weapon". True or not, intimations such as that were what drove the recent Cold War, which like most volcanos, did not die, but merely became dormant.

The US has come to rely on its weapons industry to drive its economy. It cannot shut it down, without severe repercussions at home, even if it wanted to.
