The current rules don't require that level of disclosure.
"Executive compensation has become much more complex so it was definitely time for an update,"said David Wilson, chair of the Ontario Securities Commission. "When an investor is looking at buying or selling [a company's shares], this is an important input."
The new rules largely mirror changes already adopted in the United States, where critics have lashed out at skyrocketing executive pay.
