I've been against free trade with the US since before MulGooney singed the first one. after seeing the mess it made of our economy, I'd thought we'd be too smart to get in any deeper. I was wrong. We signed NAFTA. The sale of what was BC Gas to a US company is only to be expected. Will we ever learn? Tear the damn thing up!

"Free Trade" is like a religious buzzword, and idiots who get all their "insights" from without go on stupidly chanting the mantra in editorials. Just because a country that flaunts IPR, common free market lending practices, workers rights and on and on wants to buy foreign oil doesn't mean that we are obligated to sell. If they want to retaliate, bring it on. I doubt they will, because all those bad habits of theirs make them more dependent on us than they would like to admit.

Same old story of one rule for the US in free trade, ie. code word for buying up your economy, that protects their economy and industries and leaves everyone else's "open for business" in the infamous words of Mulroney. Canadians seem to be too stupid to realize this option is available to them if they would only vote a party into office that actually represented them and not corporations.

That would be the Canadian Action Party, with an honorable mention to the NDP which I would generally endorse but that they seem to want to please everybody all the time but at least I have reasonable confidence they would stand up for Canada in general. Part of the platform of both of these parties (especially CAP) is to put the lid on the corporate agenda of globilisation.

Since I've answered your question now it's your turn to go out and vote for either of these, preferably CAP.
