Privatization Of Water Supply - No Way !!

They were inefficient, they overcharged as much as 70%, and they hurt the poorest of the poor. If a person became deep in debt in South Africa to the water company, they would simply move the owners out and auction off the house to pay down the debt. A person who was trying to get a better price for water in France had his house torched when they were away. This is serious business. He even referred to the private companies as the "Mafia" and they sued him. Guess what ? The courts agreed with him and he beat the charges. I Love it !! I was so amazed at the French situation, because they had been under private control since the days of Napolean. Think about it. Private companies only operate for profit. Drinkng water should be available to everyone, at a minimum cost. Not so around the world. It will only get worse as our population keeps growing. Water supply should never be privatized. How can there possibly be competition to supply you water? It is a pure monopoly, unless there are multiple pipe systems built (no I don't want to pay for that thank you). Tap-water being price competive with bottled water is not what I would like to see either.

A working financial system would stimulate investment into new and innovative products. Not put the squeeze onto the most ancient of them.

If we are standing still we are moving backwards.

So why, when it is so obvious that privatisation isn't working and never really has, are we still moving towards it? Is our fear of that old communist bogeyman that deep? Is the culture of greed that enticing?

    I really don't get it.

I watched the show and kept wondering why the mayor of Moncton wasn't in prison for what he did and what he tried to do, yet apparently there isn't even a law against what he did. Meanwhile the guy from Vivendi openly admitted that some of his friends were in prison. He just kind of shrugged and said, "That's business."

Reverend, the politicians and their flunkies who are in control of our systems are corrupt. 100% corrupt.

Therefore you can spray a chemical that is carcinogenic, mutinogenic and teritogenic to kill mosquitos, and all the higher level entities that eat mosquitos, to keep 20 or 30 people from dying of some flu bug but you let thousands of people die from aids rather than providing aids drugs. Not to mention the health problems caused to the people who are in the vicinity of the spray.

All they do is spin the problem. For instance, private corps with their vast pools of capital should be allowed into the health care system because governments don't have the money to expand and improve it. So they imply that corps have the money, in practice they actually borrow our money from our banks and pay a much greater interest rate than the government would have to. The fact that the polimurderers don't point this out should tell you something.

Water is a natural resource and should never be in the hands of private individuals or Government who is so corrupt. Its a natural element put here for all to benefit from. Its a gift to use not to abuse as we have done. If you check it out water is public domain not Government domain. Also to put it bluntly no one can be in charge but the Creator who put it here. Its up to us to use it in a manner which conserves and keeps it clean. No Corporate bums need apply.
