U.S. Bureau Of Alcohol, Tobacco And Firearms To Open New Toronto Office

Posted on Saturday, July 02 at 13:19 by FootPrints
"Toronto is the largest city in Canada, and of course it's very important that we have a presence there," Lewis Raden, the bureau's assistant director for enforcement programs and services, said in an interview. Raden said the bureau had been in talks about the new office with Toronto police and provincial and federal authorities "I think there was that feeling that there was a gap there," he said. "They expressed a desire to have us there." http://news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&cid=1845&ncid=1845&e=2&u=/cpress/20050630/ca_pr_on_na/ont_atf_office

    Hey Diog
Nice part of the country you live in.
I was in the south Okanogan two weeks ago and six camoflaged military helicopters were flying around the hills in close formation at about 150 feet high. They were very quiet and rather impressive with pods and spear-like things hanging off the bottom. Keeping an eye on those québécois fruit pickers, I suspect.

Well, I must say I am not surprised, but I did not know that they already had offices in Ottawa and Vancouver, my question is why? Working with them is one thing, but inviting them to open offices here is another. Do we not have RCMP to do this job? I really don't understand the need for offices here, and I think it is more of the integrated North America ideals, 'smart plan' etc.

Tell me, which foreign government agencies does the US allow to set up their country and have influence over their government employees not to mention access to information on their citizens, as their ATF most assuredly is being given here? We have enough American influence without allowing these sorts of agencies to set up shop here. Quite frankly, their excuse for expertise on American sourced arms doesn't wash since the US has some of the loosest gun laws in the world so exactly what have Canadian police to learn from them?

They are going to train our cops how to be better killers and get away with it.Train them how to spot insurgents, how to intimidate, plant evidence. The cops will love it.Then they can go out and play GI Joe,intensify the drug war,get bigger budgets.Insurgents ya know.
