The Queen's Death Star Depleted Uranium Measured In British Atmosphere From Batt

Posted on Wednesday, March 01 at 08:31 by Diogenes
The British government facility (AWE) was taken over 3 years ago by Halliburton, which refused at first to release air monitoring data, as required by law, to Dr. Busby. An international expert on low level radiation, Busby serves as an official advisor on several British government committees, and co-authored an independent report on low level radiation with 45 scientists, the European Committee on Radiation Risk (ECRR), for the European Parliament. He was able to get Aldermaston air monitoring data from Halliburton /AWE by filing a Freedom of Information request using a new British law which became effective January 1, 2005; but the data for 2003 was missing. He obtained the 2003 data from the Defence Procurement Agency. The fact that the air monitoring data was circulated by Halliburton/AWE to the Defence Procurement Agency, implies that it was considered to be relevant, and that Dr. Busby was stonewalled because Halliburton/AWE clearly recognized that it was a serious enough matter to justify a government interpretation of the results, and official decisions had to be made about what the data would show and its political implications for the military. In a similar circumstance, in 1992, Major Doug Rokke, the Director of the U.S. Army Depleted Uranium Cleanup Project after Gulf War I, was ordered by a U.S. Army General officer to write a no-bid contract "Depleted Uranium, Contaminated Equipment, and Facilities Recovery Plan Outline" for the procedures for cleaning up Kuwait, including depleted uranium, for Kellogg, Brown and Root (KBR), a subsidiary of Halliburton. The contract/proposal was passed through Madeleine Albright, the Secretary of State, to the Emirate of Kuwait, who considered the terms and then hired KBR for the cleanup. http://www.rense.com/general69/deathstar.htm [Proofreader's note: this article was edited for spelling and typos on March 1, 2006]

    When is a WMD not a weapon of mass destruction?

    When it acts slowly and kills over years, if not decades.

    Not that it should surprise me, but the story contains several factual errors:<br />
    <br />
    1.) "Dr. Chris Busby" never got his PHD. He got his Bachelors from London, and was on track to get his PHD from Queen Mary, but didn't because supposedly "he would not condone publication of fraudulent results". Guess he or the authors felt that he deserved the "Dr." title anyway. Maybe he did deserve it, but we don't know. <br />
    <a href="http://www.llrc.org/misc/subtopic/cv.htm">http://www.llrc.org/misc/subtopic/cv.htm</a><br />
    <br />
    2.) The air currents the article talks about would have carried DU from the middle east, across Asia, across the Pacific, across North America, across the Atlantic and finally to Britian. So, how exactly do they know that the DU levels came from the Middle East and were not originally from some test range in NA or the UK itself? These particles (assuming they measured anything at all) travelled across the entire world. How does anyone know where they came from?<br />
    <br />
    3.) Haliburton was kicked out of management of AWE in 1999. They operated it for 7 years through Brown and Root but were tossed out (and prosecuted) for tritium leaks at one of the other AWE plants. So they could have been hiding DU from Gulf War I, but Gulf War II and Afghanistan are hardly a Haliburton conspiracy. The latest data I can find says the facilities are run by Lockheed Martin. Not a sterling corporation in anyone's eyes here, but they are not Haliburton. <br />
    <br />
    4.) The air testing that takes place at AWE has to do with their on site activities. "The primary role of the United Kingdom's Atomic Weapons Establishment (AWE) is research, design, development, production and in-service support of the UK's nuclear warheads." Due to this work they conduct air monitoring, badge monitoring and extensive area measurements for multiple elements. DU isn't one of them (at least I can't find anything on it - Beryllium, regular Uranium, various plutoniums, and a bunch of other stuff... but no DU - if someone else has better luck, I'd appreciate the reference). Attributing measured levels of radiation at a nuclear weapons facility to bombing in the Middle East is a bit of a stretch nonetheless. <br />
    <br />
    Can anyone find an actual copy of the report by Busby? I've tried Green Audit and any link I can find relating to Busby, but nothing so far. I think it would make for interesting (if not entertaining) reading, especially if the "news" article is accurate reporting of the report itself.

    Looks like everybody's out of step, except the neocons. Every soldier that serves, or served in Iraq is under a virtual death sentence from DU contamination. We already had some deaths from cancers contacted from DU here in BC, there was a TV coverage of an RCMP Staff Sergeant's funeral who got it in Bosnia.

    In WW2 we carried our damn gasmasks, thank goodness, for nothing, because not even the worst war criminals dared to use gas.

    Now, DU must be God's gift to the anointed and holy. Go to google and type in "Gulf war syndrome" to read the stories of US veterans of the '91 Gulf war and Iraq. Only 1,670,000 hits.

    Whoa there Ed. I was never disputing the dangerous and often fatal effects of DU. But the cause of bringing any tragedy to light is not helped by misinformation, which this story seems to be. There are many decent articles on DU... I just don't think this one happens to be one of them. When something is printed that can so easily be dismissed, it paints broader stripes and inserts doubt about the validity of any supporting stories as well.

    I don't know if Busby was misquoted (which is why I was looking for the actual report), if he was trying desperately to come up with a way of making this more real for the British populace (after all, it's of no concern to most what happens in the desert sands), or if this story was misinformation generated by "neocon" conspiracy to discredit the movement as a whole. There is a reason that many of these stories never see the light of day in the MSM and that is not always because of who controls the media... it has more to do with validation of the facts. And if some 3rd rate hack like me can discredit a story in less than half an hour (I type slow), imagine what a professional can do.

    This story ranks right up there with the drunken Yank killing the tiger in Baghdad. Serious BS posted on this site by people wanting desperately to expose the evils of the neocons or the US or aluminati or whoever and grasping at every story that supports their arguements regardless of whether they have a shred of evidence or not.

    This thread should be killed by the moderators so that this lie doesn't get more play than necessary and further discredit the argument against DU weaponry.

    The Original Busby "DU over Europe?" study can be found at:<br />
    <a href="http://www.llrc.org/aldermastrept.pdf">http://www.llrc.org/aldermastrept.pdf</a><br />
    <br />
    I found it to be fastinating and well written. I am not a scientist.<br />
    <br />
    I started fact-checking this "death star" piece on a lark last night, and have become somewhat "involved" now. <br />
    <br />
    I ended up "discovering" a lot of the info by scanning the web - that Michael Scott has here- but not to this level of detail.<br />
    <br />
    I found the Busby study, because it was mentioned in Moret's piece - but then discovered contradictions between what Busby published and how Moret reported it.<br />
    <br />
    Those contradictions included:<br />
    <br />
    1) that the AWE was not an "official British Air Monitoring Agency." - in fact they make nuclear weapons. They test the air nearby their weapons and nuclear energy facilities for Plutonium and Uranium - because of a public outcry in the UK re: numerous cases of cancer.<br />
    <br />
    2)That the study only concerned Uranium in the air over England - not Depleted Uranium specifically. Ironically, non-depleted Uranium is apparently more radioactive than the Depleted kind.<br />
    <br />
    And 3) (unless I'm mistaken) there is no mention of Halliburton in the Busby paper... I found a few mentions of Halliburton and the UK's AWE on the web - and all of them appear to be a cut and paste job from this one article:<br />
    <br />
    <a href="http://www.squall.co.uk/squall.cfm/ses/sq=2001070505/ct=2">http://www.squall.co.uk/squall.cfm/ses/sq=2001070505/ct=2</a><br />
    <br />
    "As part of the Hunting BRAE consortium they were also responsible for managing the Atomic Weapons Establishment at Aldermaston. However, after a farcical series of radioactive leaks and mishaps in the 1990's, Hunting BRAE's Aldermaston contract was not renewed last year."<br />
    <br />
    So Halliburton doesn't run the place anymore. According to the AWE website Lockheed Martin does...<br />
    <br />
    unfortunatly it's much harder to find Busby's original paper online than Moret's "death star" article which is appearing all over the place, mistakes and all.

    Thanks for the links. You are absolutely right, there are several misquotes and leaps of reasoning in the media article that have no connection to the actual paper. I really wish that people (on both the left and right) would examine media articles with more scrutiny before quoting them as gospel because they reinforce some preconceived agenda. It does nothing but damage their cause and make them look like fools.

    Depleted Uranium - US
    Lung Cancer Rates Soar

    From Karl W B Schwarz
    kwbschwarz2@snet.net
    3-9-6

    So, what is the plan?

    On the March 8, 2006 edition of the CNN American Morning program with Miles O'Brien and Soledad O'Brien, they made a startling announcement. On average there are 175,000 new cases of lung cancer each year in the United States. For just the months of January and February 2006 there are 172,000 confirmed, newly diagnosed cases of lung cancer. This is not just a little spike on the charts and much worse news is coming. That is already averaging this year about 6 times the normal incidence of new lung cancer cases in a year.

    They tried to attribute it to second hand smoke, but second hand smoke and cigarettes are nothing compared to being exposed to Depleted Uranium ("DU") and particulates created by DU explosions. You can smoke for 30 years and not do the damage that DU can do to you in 30 days.

    How long does it take to get lung cancer after being exposed to DU and nano-particulates? On average 2-5 years is the correct answer. We started bombing Afghanistan in October 2001 or four and a half years ago. We started bombing Iraq again in March 2003, or just shy of three years ago.

    The effects of those bombing attacks were registered as far away as the UK according to the Aldermaston Report we and others released February 19, 2006. We do not know yet what was registered in the U.S. because the U.S. government is not saying and they definitely do not want you to know.

    The link between DU exposure and lung cancer has been known for many years. The correlation between DU and lung cancer versus cigarettes and lung cancer is even stronger for DU.

    They are making plans right now to bomb Iran, even knowing full well that they will be spreading more nuclear pollution.

    Here are the action items that need to happen:

    1. MEDICAL INTERVENTION INSTEAD OF MEDICAL NEGLECT. We (Patmos Nanotechnologies, LLC) are in discussions with multiple parties to quickly address the medical treatment needs of the veterans that have been exposed to DU and derivative nano-particulates. That will require a lab unlike any medical lab in the United States due to what it is testing for and developing treatment regimens.

    We will be putting out a call to raise funds to provide the needed travel, lodging and treatment for the veterans. Since Patmos is already aligned with a hospital and a group of doctors, and several key players in the heavy metal detoxification area, our emphasis on biotech will be re-shifted to be one of addressing the sheer medical needs of the veterans including treatment for heavy metal toxicity, DU detoxification and developing a wide range of options to deal with the many problems the troops are having. If the US government will not do it, we shall and we shall be asking Americans to do the right thing and help out.

    We are also establishing a DU Detoxification Center in the Atlanta area and will be expediting the treatment to veterans that our military is trying to avoid. Lives are at stake as well as quality of life. What got my attention focused on this matter is how many of our young healthy soldiers come home and are fundamentally fully disabled and the government ignoring that for to do otherwise would be an admission of guilt and creating a paper trail of evidence that leads up to and includes criminal conduct. This is not just a civil matter.

    We might have to create an ADOPT A VETERAN program where families with means are helping to pay for the medical needs of these soldiers. The Red Cross raised over $1 billion for the tsunami victims and their plight pales in comparison to this DU contamination catastrophe. Americans sent hundreds of millions for the tsunami relief fund and it is now time to make some of that American giving count here at home for Americans.

    Many of our troops need our help. If they do not receive help, many will spend the rest of their lives disabled or will die much sooner than God had intended.

    Where they do not have the financial means, we are going to ask Americans to make it happen.

    If you can provide funds in general or sponsor a specific veteran for the treatments, you may be saving their life and ultimately your own.

    We already have contingency plans that if the U.S. government tries to bar us from treating the soldiers they are intentionally neglecting, for fear of creating an evidence trail, there are several places offshore where the treatments will be offered and the logistics to get it done.

    The team we are assembling includes a hospital, specialist doctors, a new biotech center Patmos will build, firms that have detoxification treatments already that are proving to be very effective, and a lab that can detect not only molecules but nano-particulates too. This DU problem will require the services of laboratories, the medical specialties of endocrinology, internal medicine, neurology, urology, gastroenterology, oncology, and others.

    Most of all, Patmos has already developed several technologies that may prove to be very useful in addressing what has been done to our soldiers and all of us. We are tired of talking about it and waiting in vain for Washington, DC to do something right for a change. It is time for action.

    As some say, it is lead, follow or get the Hell out of the way time.

    2. LEGAL ACTION. Our government knows DU is deadly and harmful to the troops and other populations, but they do it any way and they keep right on doing it any time they see fit. They knew it in 1989 and have continued to deploy troops four times in major engagements and have continued to fire these weapons on US bases around general civilian populations.

    The answer to that is a Class Action Lawsuit aimed right at the problem. We are soliciting attorneys at this time to assemble a team and address this matter in the courts. It would sort of be The Citizens of the United States, Active Duty and Veterans of the US Armed Services v. The United States Government, certain Defense Contractors, Certain Individuals. My guess is the true price tag for their criminal negligence could easily top $1 trillion in damages the Plaintiffs should be entitled to.

    When the whole truth, nothing but the truth is known about this matter America is in for a very rude awakening. You will not want to watch Shock and Awe on TV when you find out to what extent it has been delivered into your life.

    This DU issue makes asbestos pale in comparison.

    The figure does not even scratch the surface on what it will cost to even attempt to clean up the mess they have made in targeted countries like Iraq, Bosnia, Afghanistan and the collateral damage of harming general populations many miles away. Turning another nation and this nation into a nuclear waste dump is not a no harm, no foul situation.
