CEOs Sell Out The Nation

Posted on Saturday, April 09 at 10:34 by 4Canada
Bay Street’s annexation initiative is led by Tom d’Aquino, president of the Canadian Council of Chief Executives, made up of the CEOs of Canada’s 150 most powerful corporations. It was called the Business Council on National Issues until the CEOs decided, given that they were all global operators, that there were no national issues and changed their name. D’Aquino and his partners in a corporate task force, former deputy prime minister John Manley and former finance minister Michael Wilson, tell us that by integrating ever more into the U.S. we will somehow guarantee our prosperity, creating fortress North America to compete with China, Europe, and other competitors. http://www.straight.com/content.cfm?id=9320

Don't blame the CEO's... We're all missing the best option: Bi- or Tri-Lingualism. Any Latin-based language will empower every small business to sell and export to more than 1/3rd of the non-English speaking world. Spanish is natively spoken by nearly 1 billion on all Continents. Portuguese, French, Italian.

I call English the Linguistic garbage can because of all the words that don't come from its Barbaric roots.

But here we are with an officially bilingual Confederation, many school systems teaching at least one or more "Second Language" options (Chinese, Ukrainian, French, First Nations and Inuit, and even English.)

Alongside of that, we wander the globe as Canadians proud of our multi-cultural diversity. And we don't capitalize on it???

Who's fooling who? 150 CEO's and 2 wasp ex-politicians or the 1.5 million small businesses we have in this country. Don't release your individual power to a handful of NeoCon wannabees!

Passwords, Logins and all that security stuff, Bah Humbug. But I did write my rant (above) in favour of using our Canadian Advantages of Multilingual business. Beat the Neocons one Canuck at a time!
