Moving Closer To..........?

Posted on Sunday, March 19 at 11:34 by Crankster
Ok,I understand that with rising costs everywhere, $1 million may not be enough to cover expenses should something happen. This I understand, but to force people to do this by threat is something far different. Are people forced into something in a democratic society such as this? Is this just a footstep into something bigger and more encompassing? If we continue to let those we work for, those that govern us (who we essentially work for) and those that protect us beat us into submission for (their) gain, does this not fall under dictatorship? I asked these questions in a letter to the editor at a local news site. The response was interesting. I received a call a couple days later. Not sure from whom, but the tone seemed to suggest that I ought not to write about such things as this. Yet another step closer. What becomes of a society that is bashed into submission by heavy-handed politics and corporations that are only after one thing? What happens to a society that lets itself be separated into two categories, rich and poor? It shuffles yet another step closer to being a society of conquered people. Look back into ancient empires. Divide and conquer was the scheme of the day. Divide the populace into rich and poor, enslave the poor and boonswaggle the rich out of their money by promises of a glorious future under the new leadership. The same happens today, just quicker with technology, that's all. Just as ruthless and deadly as it was a hundred or thousand years ago. One step at a time. Does ICBC know about this, do they support it? I can't say for sure due to the maze of automated secretaries I encountered. I couldn't actually talk to a human being. I haven't complied with the order yet. I park off site, choosing to pack my tools and materials....one small step at a time. "who we work for" was stated for those who govern us...

no,sunshine, those who govern us ,are our servants,in theory. that they have chosen to not listen to our wishes does put them into the realm of dictators and that they change laws and legislation to keep us stunned and stupid(machiavelli loosely translated)shows what kind of criminal ethos is at work in our province and country.

they are the worst kinds of parasites.

Crankster: thank you for taking time to write this story. The rest of
us need to know -- or else, how can we show support when the
crunch comes (as it surely will).

I hope you do OK, and that we'll hear more from you.

The Cruinch is more of the triphammer of the system beating the people into slaves

Hit em wid more tarriffs and taxes
    smash the union movement
so that the working man can not keep abreat of inflation and devalued fiat debt dollars he is forced to accept.

    I know Cranskster
I know what he is up against
I know the struggles he and his fellow workers experience

    I thank him too
    more than that
I hold him as one of the very few that do the right thing inspite of the crap handed him.

    Ya Rock Bro!

What a joke. I think maybe it's time the trades stop covering for everyone else and look out for our own interests.

They state we are one of the safest countries to work in. Ha! It's only because nobody is reporting injuries. In some cases it's because they were wearing stilts, which are illegal in Ontario but are safer to wear than going up and down a bench a hundred times a day. If they do go to the hospital for the injury it is blamed on the paper covering the oak stairs. The other obvious reason is that many workers are here illegally and would never report.

Other times the company asks you to not report. Just stay home and they will pay your wages. They don't want the hassle from compensation, and the site doesn't want safety coming in. They also would have to hire a private safety firm to come in.

I have seen cases where the hydro inpector doesn't even enter the house, they hand the guy the sticker from their vehicle.

I could go on for hours! Insufficient insulation that somehow passed, really bad framing and things that are covered up to make it look good. Many new homes may look great, but give them a year or so to settle and watch out.

How about the safety inspectors that walk across planks covering an eight foot drop from outside to come in and catch you up to no good, meanwhile you had to carry all your tools in across that plank. They ignore serious issues.

I take pictures all the time. Saving them up for a rainy day.

I think our unions are failing us in many ways. To bad we all couldn't form a new one.

That statement was meant as sarcasm. We all know that the 'role' of government as servants of the people has drastically changed.
I wrote this not show my outrage, but, rather to show that people ARE being bullied and pushed one step at a time to a crunch more serious than we can imangine.
Far-fetched? Do the people living under puppet regimes and dictatorships think it was far fetched as wars raged and leaders fought for control? Its just here we don't use weapons yet,we're too civilized.
Thanks for the kind words Dio,keep the coffee hot matey!

Can't agree with you more Footprints. There is so much going by the board these days in construction.
I have to say tho, that this is so much more than that. It is such a little thing yet has huge repercussions. The contractor i spoke about is a corporate contractor with a lot of pull. If we continue to let even workplace policy be set by these kinds of corporations(I hate to even use the word so much as it becomes wearing),we are had. These corporations then become tools of the government to thouroughly cow the people at there most vulnerable point. The true work-force. You and me. Blue coller, white coller,no coler, these days it matters not.

Yea, you should have to have insurance? Its probably really WISE.

AND NO the House and Senate heald hearings on the troop levels.. they voted on it.. the people of Canada had re-elected that war monger Paul Martin.. and YEA. he planned the troop increase LAST SUMMER. You can watch those hearings on CPAC.. Check it out.. seriously.. you'll be really mad I bet. But yea. they definatly talked about this increase last August and had been, 'planning it from the spring (ie 05 on)'

Don't be a sheep to their system its liberal technocrats that want to force your hand to get insurance and that type of crap.

That is what i am saying. Yes insurance is wise, but,to be pushed or threatened into buying more is wrong. The thing is,i know lots of trades who have to use thier vehicles as work stations etc, but, they can't afford to increase thier insureance even by $20,00 /month.
BTW who added the tag on the title?!?!?!?? Did i say you could?!?!?!

Making smaller companies pay insurance like that will put them out of business. They have a hard enough time as it is. The larger ones will even take a loss in the winter to keep their guys working, there is no way to compete with that.
And how many people will actually use that insurance? Not many.

Just take a look at home-owner insurance! That is the biggest joke yet. It's good for a year? The builder will waste that year up with cosmetic fixes, and by the time the real problem surfaces, it's too late.

Commercial projects: no piece-workers. Mostly hourly. What a huge waste of money and time. If you work too fast they will tell you to slow down!

I don't know: but I'll be out of the industry and on to something new in the next few months anyway. :)

Mery Christmas to all those unions and corporations that
make life interesting by presenting one challenge after
another for filling ones stomach with even a few crumbs.
Merry Christmas to those builders who have caused the
codes to become inflated tools of death for the little
    guys who build on truth.
Lastly, Merry Christmas to a government and an
    established
gestapo that makes fighting this shit titillating and
    interesting.
May the new year bring your dimise.
