"I don't find the Conservative Party either progressive socially or conservative economically and those were always the two key points I've held on to through the years as a Progressive Conservative," Easton said on his front lawn, where he had just knocked in a Liberal campaign sign for the first time in 30 years.

If I stand for my country today...will my country be here to stand for me tomorrow?
It doesn't bode well for the Liberals, in my mind, to have all these Conservative types feeling more at home in the Liberal party than the Con party. However the jumping shipers did that once already when they pulled the plug on the PC party boat in the first place. I'm just waiting for the piece de resistance. Peter MacKay walking away holding his pointy little nose as though he's too good for what's left of the Cons. The more Cons that bail, the less they each can say they're WAY different than the other. Too funny.

If people were following the news after the Merger this would be no surprise. The Conservatives are now panicking
because what some us ex PCer's said is now coming through. The merger did not bring as many PCers over that they though would move. Thus now during the election campaign we see Stephen "the Soft Hearted" vice Stephen " the Horrible". He is trying to attract more of the PC vote and is having a terrible time doing it.
All of the people that you say are jumping ship are the ones who had signed a petition to try and stop or slow down the speed at which the merger was taking place. Thus why you have the Progressive Canadian Party and even within the PC party you have inter party organizations that have formed to protect and encourage the use of PC principles. So don't believe everything you hear, things are not rosy in the Conservative Camp.
