Former Tories Back Liberal

A letter sent to people in the riding urges voters to elect Liberal Borys Wrzesnewskyj instead of Tory Lida Preyma.

"In 2001, when the undersigned brought the local federal Progressive Conservative and Canadian Alliance associations together, we believed that it was in the best interests of Canada for our fellow citizens to have a choice," said the letter, signed by Stephen Thiele, former president of the local PC association, and Brian Roussie, former local Alliance president.

So what we are seeing is incredible party loyalty, a legacy of the Mulroney years, they can't quite swallow the b.s. they have been spewing and we are suppose to have faith in these parties? The Liberals are doing it as well, which tells we all is not right in their kingdoms.

No, what you are seeing is actually what some us ex tories told them was going to happen. We were and are still in a way Progressive Conservatives and not Republicians. These two organizations are not the same. In fact a number of the PCer's you find moving to various parties are the people who signed a petition to stop the merger. When all of this failed they have decided to vote with their feet, just as I have. My move was to CAP and my next move will be to the One Big Party concept. Party loyality may be a thing of the past as we are seeing during this election. What is in vogue now is what party best represent my beliefs? When the party stops representing my beliefs for any reason I reserve the right to vote with my feet.
