    1, 2, 4. exactly, that's why Noam chomsky still lives in the US; it's so he can take advantage of the freedoms they have there, just like Marx studied in the British Museum.

    6. This guy Barack Obama is definitely NOT progressive. "He declared that he would favor the use of missile strikes against Iran if it failed to bow to Washington's demand that it cease its alleged nuclear weapons program. Obama also said that in the event of a coup that removed the Musharraf regime in Pakistan, the US should attack that nation's nuclear arsenal." (Chicago Tribune, Sept 25) ...which is just what the world needs, more Iraqs & Afghanistans

    10. I thought Ottawa got way colder than that. After all, it's the world's 2nd-coldest capital.

    Time to start our version of the 'Florida swamplands' sales technique. If we're going to sell off Canada piece by piece, might as well try to get rid of the 'less desirable' acreage first.

    Some more reasons:<ul> <li>A tremendously long, indefensible border <li>between them and our tarsands, natural gas, water, wood, beef, hydroelectricity, uranium, labour, and lebensraum <li>guarded by an army outnumbered by Bloomberg's police force <li>commanded by a shaggy-dog journalist <li>guided by a PM who wanted us to help destroy Iraq <li>one opposition leader explicitly seeking the secession of Quebec <li>the other acting like he wants to be Governor of North Texas</ul>
